I went directly into making my own juice by purchasing PG, Nic and flavorings however I tried a flavor from someone that had purchased it from a retailer, it was Blueberry waffle and the taste was just amazing, it tasted exactly like it however all the ones I have made have the taste but nowhere near as good, I mean even after vaping the Blueberry Waffle the taste was in my mouth for 10-15 minutes., I could taste the Blueberry, Waffle, Syrup and the Butter.

The Flavoring I am using is Capella at approx 15%

Are other purchased juices this good?
What have others found when experimenting with DIY and retail juice?

I have purchased some good juices in the past and some more recently. I have also purchased some that I did not like at all. I also started doing some DIY liquids over the last few months and have actually come up with a few that I really like and maybe one or two that I think are better than some of the liquids I have bought. I have also made a couple flavors I did not like at all. I usually do my flavorings at 25%..

ive only been DIYing for a little while but ive had some good retial juices when i first started vaping, i like DIY a lil better simply because if you dont like it or theres not enough flavor you can add to it really easy becaise you know what ratios are in your own juice, when u buy juice it might be good....or bad but if its bad how do you fix it...a lot of time and effort because you have no clue what is really in there except maybe a pg/vg ratio. they dont tell you there 5 drops of this 10 of that and 13 1/2 of somthing else, i perfer DIY but its just an opinion. if DIYing isnt for you no worries but everyone taste is different so the 15% flavoring you use might not be enough for you you can try to bring it up to 20% and try it out...best of luck to ya, have a great day!

WyseOne, I'm not a DIY mixer yet, but I've read quite a bit about it and I have one suggestion that no one has mentioned yet: let your juice age for a few days. They say that this allows the flavors to mix properly and makes it taste a LOT better.

I can't wait to start DIY mixing! It sounds fun, and I love to experiment with stuff!

The Suppliers have been at it a long time and I'm sure it took a lot of trial and error to get it right. You have just started. Patience my friend and you will find the right ingredients and percentages. Start small as not to waste any and make your percentage low and gradually work up.

Part of it is likely aging (steeping), if it's a multi-flavor mix. Part of it is selecting the flavors and % -- right now for DIY I use Seedman, Capella, PA, Natures Flavors, Faeries Finest, and have a bit of FlavourArt -- no one company really has the best across-the-board.

Guess there's a reason good juice costs $ -- it's hitting the magic mix :)

I plan to get into DIY mixing very soon and I think of it like this.... My mother-in-law is a *fantastic* cook, but I know that didn't happen over night. She has some recipes that she's been making for 40 years, and she *still* tinkers with them to get that "perfect blend of flavor". I'm guessing when I get into DIY flavors, I'll be the same way (though I hope it doesn't take 40 years, lol). I'll just have to keep fiddling with a flavor until I get it just right (and take LOTS of notes along the way so I know exactly how many drops of this and that it took to get it right).

In a way, I've already dabbled in DIY. I had two juice flavors I'd ordered - one I really liked (Nuport), and one that was a little disappointing (chocolate mint). The choco mint was "okay" but not very minty. The Nuport is very minty and kind of sweet, so I mixed some of the Nuport in the choco mint. The result was pretty good - BUT, it wasn't until a few days LATER (after it had sit for awhile) that the flavors really came out. It's now my favorite vape.
