What's the difference between an IMR battery and a Non-IMR? I understand that the IMRs are supposed to be able to handle higher drain, and play well with boost circuits...but what does that mean for using one straight up?

Switching from an 18650 Li-Ion 3100mAh to an 18650 IMR 2000mAh. Is there going to be a massive difference in how it vapes with LR cartos? Or is this just splitting hairs?

In lower size cells there is a distinct advantage in using IMR (Li Mn) over Li Ion. However, at the 18650 cell size there is no need for the output power of an IMR as the Li Ion is quite capable of supplying what you need. In that case, you go for longevity vice power. 3100mAh = win over 2000mAh, any day of the week and twice on Sunday. In smaller cells e.g 16340 and below, by all means IMR over Li Ion.

I bought my Silver Bullet with 2 3100mAh 18650's and the plastic around the bottom started to come off one of them. The charger was a bit on the cheap side.

So when I snagged my Kick and SB Extension sleeve, I just replaced the 3100mAh's with the IMRs. I've since found that the kick and extension was a little too touchy for me, and adjusting the head/battery and then switching around the carto constantly got annoying. So I was going to pull the kick and just go straight SB on the IMRs.

So other than battery life and jump starting people's cars, there won't be a distinct difference?

...and everyone says that, that's the best one yet?!?

checking the ones sold through Super T manufacturing...the panasonic are protected, though they also have unprotected versions
