Difference between P3 Beta and P3 Official

Can someone please tell me what are the differences between the P3 Beta and P3 Official?

The diamonds engraved on the sides and the software update, beta is 3.1, unless you send it in like I did for the update, official is 3.6....

What differences does the 3.6 have? My wife has a beta and I am not sure if I can rip it out of her hands to send in for an update.
