Differences in FT Kayfun clones

Looking for some input into a couple different atties. I'm not at all unfamiliar with this style, I had a Russian 91, but needed money, so it had to go. I want to replace it with something cheaper, so I come to you all who have maybe tried these versions from FT to get an opinion.

The two I'm looking at are this:

I assume quality on both will be similar, so the difference should be in the body of the atty. Does the drip well of the 3.1 clone seem useful, or is it just wasted space that adds to the height of the atty? I always filled my Russian from the top, so Fill screw/valve isn't reall important to me. I do like that the 3.1 clone has a screw-in drip tip, and I can also get the adapter for my own dt's. Cost is really negligible, after the parts for the 3.1 kit, they're about the same, so who's got both, which one is better and why? Thanx ECF!
