Different pull on cartos?

Hi all, I searched the forum and couldn't find anything that answered my question so here goes.
Got my KR808 yesterday :) and have been using it. The starter kit I got (myvaporstore) came with Virginia 11mg cartos. Those work perfectly. Nice hit, lots of vapor etc. I also ordered some 24mg carts, same type except higher nic. It seems that it is a lot harder to get the same drag from the 24's and hardly any vapor. Are higher mg all like this? Should it seem harder to drag on a 24mg than an 11?

Sorry for the ramble, I'm pretty excited about my e-cig but I don't want to keep smoking analogs cuz I can't get a decent hit out of it.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

There are variances in the manufacture of cartos. Some pull harder than others, but barring this, you should make sure not to over tighten the cartos on the battery. Just snug, or maybe even loose will make it draw easier. If you are not getting good vapor, the carto may not be filled completely, or a little dried out. If you have some juice, you can pull off the end cap and drip a little juice in it. With the higher nic content, you should be getting better throat hit than the lighter nic.

Three things -

1. I know with the Vapor4Life cartos (which are for KR8) there are two different ohms - WOW blanks which are lower ohms and run hotter and and Coolcarts which are slightly higher ohms and run cooler. But so far for me, the Coolcarts drag easier - odd

2. How tight the stuffing is, how full of juice, how straight the center channel is - these can all affect the drag. A carto vapes best when it is neither overly wet nor getting a bit dry. If a particular carto's stuffing was packed very tight, it may have a harder draw. And if the center channel is off-center or angled and you cannot look through the carto at any angle and see light through the carto, then the drag can be harder. This can sometimes be fixed with a well straightened paper clip and the carto off the battery but you could also break the carto by snapping a wire inside when you try to straighten the channel.

3. I know with V4L KR8 cartos, the inner circle of the threaded end can affect the tightness of the drag. You shouldn't try this unless you can afford to lose the carto but you can try to gently and evenly lift the inner circle a bit. This will only fix the case where the circle is not contacting the battery at all or when the problem is the carto screws in too tight against the battery making it hard to air to pass between the carto and battery.

Thanks Dormouse. Have the day off so I am messing around a bit with it. It appears that the channel that runs from side to side on the bad one isn't machined properly. Looking at the battery side of the carto, rather than having a level recess all the way across it seems bevelled.? My guess, this is reducing the amount of air I can pull through. Too bad since the flavor is pretty decent. Hopefully this is the only bad one in the batch!

I looked at my V4L carto and it's a pretty flat channel cut across the center of the inner circle of the threaded end.

You can spin the juice out and put it in another carto - see Youtube video titled Reverse Taryn Spin

I did do that once to get juice out of a non-working prefilled carto and push it into a blank using the condom. I usually do not use the condom filling method since soft-cap cartos can be filled as intended and I find that less messy.

Thanks for the tips Dormouse! Finally emptied out one of the 11mg carts so I did the reverse spin and refilled my first cart. As far as the actual carts go, you were right on the money ECC. Comparing the two, I realized the 24mg carts don't seem to be as well made. They are also about 1mm shorter than the 11mg carts. I think it's odd that ordering the same flavor, from the same vendor would yield two obviously different carts!
Oh well, I am sitting here vaping away on 24mg nic and don't feel like I want to go outside and smoke an analog so I(and my wife) are very pleased. Thanks again to you two as well as everyone else on this awesome forum. Hope I can help others as much as youse have helped me already.
