Diluting Nic - lame question

I've got a 30ml bottle of 52mg nic in VG. I want to add it to a PG/VG base to dilute it down to 4mg. I know this is a really lame question, but my brain just doesn't do numbers. I've sat down with a calculator, pen & paper, and I am still not confident I got it right.

Please someone who is good with numbers, tell me how much base I need to dilute it down to 4mg. I'll be eternally grateful.

Do a Google search for 'ejuicemeup'. It is a very good juice calculator and easy to use, and it will allow you to check your math however you want to mix.

There's a calculator up at the top of this forum in the sticky area, but here's how you do it with pen and paper.

Whenever I do dilutions I use this equation:

(concentration you want)/(concentration you've got) x (final volume you want) = how much base/stock solution to use.

So, lets say you want to make 30 ml of 4 mg/ml:

(4 mg/ml)/(52 mg/ml) x 30 ml = 2.308 ml

So, if you add 2.3 ml of 52mg/ml and 27.7 ml of other liquid your final nic concentration will be 4 mg/ml.

Or... use the ejuicemeup calculator. LOL! That would be easier. The one in the sticky area was kind of hard to figure out, IMO, so I was just doing them on paper.

or do it this way....4 goes into 52 thirteen times...so 1 part is 52mg/ml and 12 parts vg or pg. works for other formulations too...12mg/ml goes into 48mg/ml 4 times...so 1 part 48mg/ml and 3 parts vg or pg...etc

360ml of PG/VG base added to 30ml of 52mg nic will get you 390ml of 4mg nic:
(52 / 4) x 30 = 390 Total yield
390 - 30 = 360 PG/VG

Thanks everyone ! Some days my brain just won't do numbers (I'm an arty-farty type, not maths-science) and I don't want to poison myself.

Out of all of this, Nodoggy's & jj1257's explanations worked best for me. I'm going to get my courage up and do this!
