Hi all

A month into vaping and about a week or so ago issues began developing. I use a couple of TV juices at 20% VG in a couple of Egos and vapor, taste and throat hit was less than it was the first couple of weeks. I cleaned the attys but to no avail and finally changed them out to 2.0 ohm ones a few days ago. Now, I have what appears to be fair vapor production but the throat hit and taste are still poor. Especially the taste, just no flavor anymore. I could best describe it as very mild taste with a crappy, possibly burnt, taste mixed in.

Is this an issue of becoming habituated to the flavor? It does kind of seem as if a film is now coating my mouth and blocking the taste. Any suggestions to this new vaper would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the initial problem was atty related. Now that you're getting good vapor, the TH and taste issues could possibly be related to your tastebuds burning out on a flavor.

This could also be due to your tastebuds changing as a result of quitting analogs. Many have found that their tastebuds go through several changes in the first few weeks/months of vaping. Some have found that if they just vape through it, their sense of taste returns in a couple of days. Keeping in mind that our ability to "taste" vapor is directly related to our sense of smell, you may run into taste issues if you are having any sinus trouble.

Hope this helps some... and welcome to the forum!

Thank you for the responses and the welcome.

No illness issues and I actually feel GREAT not smoking analogs. I expecting more TV juice in the mail soon so hopefully it's just a taste burnout issue. If not, would LV 510 cartomizers from Nhaler be a good option for me to pursue? Should I just go to a high volt system? If I have to whip out the credit card, so be it. I'm willing to spend what it takes to stay off analogs.

IMO this happens to everyone. After using a certain flavor for a while its taste will diminish. I just switch to another flavor for a while and then go back to that flavor.

I have tried 18 flavours, none of which are at all tasy anymore, and I like wach one a lot. I hope it is something that will pass.

Yes, it's a dry atty taste, but with new attys and full cartridges. I've even dripped a few drops on the atty with no improvement. I use Highpings cart fill method with either a bit of poly or the blue foam from Strictly E-juice. I've even trimmed down the foam a bit. Still a bland crappy taste. Hence my next question. Can used poly or foam impact taste? I just keep reusing the stuff without ever cleaning it.

As of now, I just suck it up (literally) and continue vaping. Tastes like crap but its better than smoking analogs. After work, I think I'll just clean everything, check batt voltages and atty ohms, and attempt to start fresh. New flavors from TV should be in today and hopefully some LV attys too. Gonna hit it from all fronts. Gotta figure this out. Again, anything but analogs.

I know exactly what you mean. It's very frustrating. I would fill my cart up as usual and about half way to it being dry I would start to get a bad taste. What I did was to fill up my cart and also add 3 drops to the atomizer. This seemed to keep the flavor going longer. I can also tell you that this *rough* period did pass. Hang in there!

I now have some improvement and I would just like to report back as to what I've learned.

Last night I went through all my equipment. If it could be cleaned, blown, poked or tested; I cleaned, blew, poked and tested it. I made changes one at a time and checked performance after each change. Lastly I tried a new TV juice that just arrived.

The change that significantly improved performance was cleaning both the battery and atomizer connections. Now I don't know why this worked, all I know is that it made a noticable difference. Also, as many suspected, the new juice flavor was clearly more robust that the ones I have adapted to (now obvious to me), so juice acclimatization was my second issue.

Thanks much to all.
