I had that going on and found out I didn't blow the primer out. Also a supplier suggested to add one drop of vodka or everclear to the tank to thin the juice a little - one drop literally.

One thing others have suggested when they get a "dry" hit is to darg on it a couple times without activating the atomizer, to help it wick. Wait a minute then try again.

As for new product taste. Did you blow the priming fluid out of the atomizer?

^this.
When I got my Tank it tasted burned as well. But in my case I didn't push the tank cartridge all the way in. It really takes quite a 'push' to get the cartridge all the way in.
And I'd try blowing through the atty's battery end with a paper towel below, and even cleaning the inside of the atty a little, then re-prime with a couple of drops of your juice into the atomizer.

Hi caoachm.
In your list I didn't see "Blow out the atomizer".....
Blow hard from the battery end, into a napkin. It's not too late. You will notice moisture coming out. Blow 'couple of times until no more moist coming.

Then, put 2 drops directly into the atty hole in the center (NOT the battery side, this time :)), attach tank, and vape away..

If unit's quite new, it can also pay off to gently wipe battery (in the battery "hole" e.t.c.) it off with a moist (water) cloth or tissue. Also, you can wipe the inside of the atomizer battery end with a moist, fitted tissue. I.e. generally to remove residues of "cutting oil" from the manufacturing process. While not noticing it in general, even small amounts may influence the taste.

Finally, the atty WILL get better after some usage.
Good luck. :)
