My first clearomizer was an iclear 30, which came with my MVP 2. I wasn't a fan of it, so I decided to buy a better model. After some advice from a local B&M, I bought a protank 3 from them. Now I'm recognizing a bad taste from both of them, regardless of how often I clean out the coils, or if I put a new one in. They coils have also seemed to become burn very quickly, after just a few days of vaping. Is this just bad luck with the coils I got? Is there any way to fix it? Any suggestions for a next step?

Could have to do the the wattage/voltage you are vaping at. Also would have something to do with the juice you're vaping. A thicker juice will gunk up the coils more quickly.
I've never gotten more than about a week out of a Kanger coil before it has to be cleaned, dry burned and rewicked.
The pt3 is a good tank, though. A better one is the Nautilus mini and has approx. the same capacity.
Hope that helps!

as already mentioned it could just be improper setting. not sure what coil you're using, they typically come with a 1.5 or 1.8 coil.. but a 1.5ohm coil you shouldn't be above 9.5 to 10 watts tops.. depending on how much you vape every few days per coil sounds about right. i get around 4-5 days or about 1000 puffs before they start gunking up. i just pop open the top tube and rinse with warm water and they're good for another few days. you can use a coil multiple times if you clean them..

while i would agree it might be slightly better, but IMO the Nautilus isn't exactly a "mini" which is what turned me off from buying one, it's almost twice the size of a Protank mini and it just doesn't look right (and difficult to stand upright) on slim batteries such as the itaste vv3 or ego pen style batteries.

Seebo i thought the same at first. But it grows on you and its more portable than you think. It has to be this size bc the middle airflow is thick. And 2ml tank is the min you would need for an advance clearomizer like this. This is the smallest they could of made it.

They have the aspire k1 bvc which prob something you might like better but the tank is small (1.5 ml total size with eliquid only 1ml) and the performance is not as good as the nautilus mini.

True that. But if the OP is using a full size pt3, the profile would be about the same.

MVP2 is best bang for the buck in batteries for getting you off the tar.

The plastic tank you usually get with it..... it's just doable; that's what it's for.

Glass tank.

Once you get off the cigarettes your tastebuds change and it can be an uphill downhill ride from there.

Rewick those coils with cotton.

cotton rewick: 1 to 3 days. maybe a week.
dryburn coil to burn off gunk.

I read a lot about how long coils last on this forum. I usually read 1-2 weeks for most people, with some people getting as much as a month out of one with vodka soaking and such.I never got close to that though.

To me, the Protank 3 is the Windows Vista of Kanger tanks. It should have never been created, because it's basically a Protank 2 with dual coils, but without the air control valve of the Aerotank.

I use Protank 2 single coils with an aerotank base, and vape about 2.5ml a day. As a primary tank, I never got a coil to last me more than 3 days, even with dry burning. It wasn't a big deal, as I would need 2-3 coils a week, at a cost of about $1 a coil, but it was annoying that everyone else I knew could make their's last a week with the same tank and equipment.

I got so irritated that I started to rebuild my own. I still rebuild them about every 3rd day. It takes 5 minutes per coil. I guess it's just my vaping style that kills coils quickly. Now that I rebuild them though, I don't have to worry about wasting a coil that still works, but isn't that great. I also benefit from the better wicking material.

When I still used stock heads I used 20/80 juice and 50/50, but the coils still last me about 3 days. I am a believer that dark juice kills coils faster though. If you went with a light colored fruit flavor it would last longer than a dark colored coffee flavor.

In your case though, I think you're either vaping at too high a voltage, or you're chain vaping too quickly. With stock heads, I would get burn by the third consecutive hit. With cotton and rayon you can chain vape away all you want, but you would have to learn how to rebuild them.
