:nah: I received my Joye 510 today. This is my first time trying a e-cig. I ordered from cignot, along with a 30ml bottle of 24mg of methol liquid. The taste is so bad, and it doesnt even taste like menthol, more like a regular tobacco taste, and i have a headache. Im smoking my regular cigarettes already. The e-cig works great, but the juice is horrible and i refuse to keep shopping around spending money i dont have hoping i will get good juice, just to be disapointed over and over.

Sounds like you're in a pickle...

I'd try Drew at Nhaler - he has sample sizes for his liquids ($4-$5 each). Shipping may be a little much, but he' definitely worth giving a try despite that. Home - NHaler

Keep in mind that vaping is different from smoking - enough so that it may be weird at first. Try a 12mg nicotine level if you're getting a headache.

Just a thought, but the bad taste might be from the atomizer. Atomizer come primed and if you start vaping from it, it can take awhile for the nasty taste to go away. You can try holding a paper towel to the open end and blowing in the end that connects to the battery. You should get some liquid out of there. Keep doing that until no more liquid comes out, drip a drop or two of your liquid on the atomizer and try vaping again. If it tastes a little burnt drip another drop on it, but not more than 4 as you may flood your atomizer. Take a couple more puffs and hopefully (if it was in fact the atomizer) it should taste better. I have yet to find a juice that actually tastes like an analog, but the menthol does a pretty good job. Keep trying!

Put more drops directly in the atomizer, not the cartidge?

I agree with Canary, and please let us know how it goes. I am curious how many puffs you tried before posting. My first thought when reading your post was atomizer primer. In my experience, it can sometimes take quite a number of puffs (30-50) before that taste goes away enough that it isn't noticeable anymore. Also, as these are different from regular cigarettes, you need to drag slowly. You will also notice a bad taste from dragging too quickly or often. There is a slight learning curve with e-cigs but it won't take long to get the hang of it. I promise!

The 510 is an excellent PV. While it could be your juice, it is most likely the primer.

Good luck and welcome to the forum!

I hated the taste of the tobacco that came with my 510 too, but it honestly does get better; this is coming from someone who is very very fussy about what type of analog cigs I would normally smoke.
I started getting used to it when I added a couple of drops of Red Bull flavour onto the tobacco carts (yummy!!!!!). Now I don't mind the taste at all :)
Agree too about new atomisers.....I dread it when I have to put a new atty in but I'm getting quick at wearing them in now -lol.

I agree with Canary - it is probably the primer on the atty. It can sometimes take a full day to burn off and can taste nasty.

I also agree with vagabond - I had the 510 and it was ok, got me off the analogs, but just ok. And I found I was always dripping with Drew's (from Nhalers) juice and topping off the cart just to get a throat hit and some flavor. I got the Vapor King and WOW! Blew me away with the consistant taste and throat hits! I will never go back and Steve and Vapor4Life is the best! Check out the Vapor4Life forum on this website and see what people are saying!

Ease of use + taste + throat hit = satisfaction that will keep you off the cigs!

Whatever you decide, I hope you will get off the cigs one way or another! Good luck to you!

Does anyone else clean their new 510 atomizers before using? The primer is so nasty (and I have no idea what's in it!) that I've taken to boiling new atomizers in distilled water, blowing them out, boiling a bit longer, blowing them out again, and then letting them drain and dry before finally priming with a liquid I actually want to vape. Seems to work pretty well so far.

I concur - Nhaler's flavors are outstanding and a great, inexpensive way to sample juices.

I would also suggest to try adding just a drop or two of Juicy Liquid's Menthol Drops... http://www.juicyliquid.com Or get their menthol crystals an put a SMALL amount in an unflavored liquid. Both are Awesome!

I smoked menthol for 30 years - quit two months ago using a 510 and every menthol I could get my hands on.

Keep at it - you'll never look back.

No need for the boiling, really. I just shove a rolled-up paper towel in a new atty and blow the primer out. A couple of times blowing it out from both ends until no more primer comes out, then putting a couple of drops of juice on the atty bridge before putting your PV all together and vaping works well.
