So much for supporting my b & m. None of the have carts any more. Either you get something to rebuild or you get a natalaus. Funny part is my wife is going to start school in a few weeks and she had quit her full time job and now has a part time one at the b & m by us. This will be interesting her working there and me buying all my supplies on line since they don't have a thing I can use.

I had that experience long ago, when I went to a mech and a genesis rba, and started making my own juice. Suddenly the B&M's had nothing at all I needed. None of them have mesh or kanthal, and they sure aren't going to sell you juice making supplies. You are better off just going online really, it will save you money.

Yeah I'm starting to learn the DIY thing, but I've always bought 99% of my stuff online, even my favorite ejuice. The main reason I go to the 2 B&Ms near me is that they each have one flavor I truly love, and buying it there at least saves the shipping cost, and one of them is run by a guy that I really enjoy talking to; he's just fun, and has been very helpful to me ever since I first started vaping. He does carry a couple things that might be useful, and I might need *right away* rather than waiting on shipping, like drip tips and the inexpensive tanks, and the other store carries kanthal wire, though at vastly inflated prices.

Mainly I go to Vaping Shack for the conversation and the Hard Rock Vapor Blueberry Muffin, and I go to Steam Cigs for the Pipe Sauce. Otherwise, I just buy everything online.

Keep checking around your area, seems like more are opening all the time. Here in northern NJ there was nothing, one opened with a reasonable mix of items but overpriced. Then I found two more close by that carry kanthal, ecowool, ceramic, a wide variety of mods, cartos, clearos, tanks, RDA, etc and reasonably priced. I picked up a K-100 at one for $25, less than I've seen them online almost anywhere.

The major B&M near my work (shout out for East Side Vapes) is actually really good.

They don't cary cartos, that I know of, but they do carry pretty much everything else, including kanthal, eco, mechs, regulated (from ecigs to top end), good selection of atties and tanks (clearos and others). Their juice is B&M priced - they have to compensate for staff and rent costs - but not outrageous.

They also walk you through the rebuilding process and the staff is quite knowledgeable. I'm fortunate to have had them as a resource during my learning curve.

All of the other B&M's that I've visited locally, however, are as you've described - usually a bit of an extreme mech subohm attitude, with some token starter kits to feel good saying they are a full service shop. They feel more like a niche social club than a welcoming place to help get people off the analogs.

Yeah Steam cigs here in lawrenceville is that kind of social-club kind of place, always full of those "monster clouds," but they offer a workshop on thurs nights for the diff techie stuff, rebuilding and whatnot. But the other place, Vaping Shack, is very good for new vapers; the guy is quite knowledgable in walking a new user thru a good starter kit, think he offers eGos and EVODs, all the different maintenance things, charging and refilling juice, changing coils, the usual stuff; my husband and I were there one day for me to taste some new flavors when the guy was walking a newbie thru it all, and he did a good job, the guy seemed to understand how to handle it all, really excited about giving up the smokes. That one is definitely my favorite.

I like a few of my local B&ms.
One has a bar style feel where you can sit on the outside of the U shaped counter and build coils and chat. Friendly staff and fun patrons. They have space jam that I like, and reasonably priced clones. Cheaper than atty + shipping.
Another has a good selection of reasonably priced items. I buy drip tips there and some juice (halo - same as online, no shipping!)
Two more popped up recently that I plan to check out.

I asked about cartos at my local B&M, they said they don't carry obsolete technology.

This is exactly what they told me. That cartos were obsolete and that there was much better technology out there and they showed me a mini natalus. They had not kanger tanks, no carto tanks, a few drippers and natulas all over the place. I really like carto tanks. I do hope that I will be able to still buy them on line as time goes along. I like my IBTanked tanks. Oh well, it just means i do not get the chance to support my local shops.
