I just got my SS KING clone from FT delivered yesterday and although it is a great value for the money im also a little disappointed...

After reading peoples posts here on ECF saying that the clone was a exact match to the original and in some cases that it hits even harder then the original because of the silver plated contacts I may have set me expectations a little high. My local vape shop sells the original so I have hands on experience to compare my clone to.

This list is to set realistic expectations for anyone thinking about buying the KING clone from ft:
  • The hex bolts for the button lock and airflow control are loos/wobbly. If they are screwed down tight one way or the other they hold firm but if they are anywhere in the middle you can feel them wiggle between your fingers.
  • the firing button does not compress all the way. This is a big peeve for me! You can adjust the screw inside the mechanism to change the draw of the button, but no matter what it will not compress all the way. The buttons movement is minimal and it is still sticking out very far when the mod fires.
  • when you use the airflow control bolt to cover the holes at the top of the mod it exposes the threading where the top cap and the tube connect, because the threading into the tube isn't deep enough you cant screw in the top cap all the way when the airflow is blocked. What is the point of covering the air holes if it is just going to expose nasty threading?

That said, its only $26 dollars so its still a great value! I love the adjustable silver plated center pin!

i have heard on several models that fasttech isnt carrying the "good" clone of this or that, yet others are awesome. like they have two steam turbines from two companies and i think like 6 different chi-you's. lol

for the price though if it works its still worth throwing in a box for a backup. i have a cheapo depot clone i use just for setting up coils. isnt the greatest but works just fine for my needs.

Must be manufacturing tolerances. On my knockoff, when the air flow adjuster is screwed all the way up, the only threads that are exposed are the bottom threads on the air flow adjustment itself, my top cap screws all the way down into the tube, and on my button, there's barely enough space between the button and the bottom cap to see light through when the button is fully depressed.

My lock ring and air flow ring are wobbly, tho.

Like you said, tho, still a pretty good value for the money.
