The vv gripper is responding very poorly to most of my cartos and the amp reading goes from 9.99 to 0 with barely any twist. I suspect it is the crappy 510 connection that is built into it. I have tried adapters and they fail. I am sure that it has to do with either the connectors or a short, but I am leaning towards the connector since it sometimes vapes or reads the ohms of my cartomizer correctly.

You could try removing the battery and gently pulling it apart from there. I read somewhere about a guy trying to force a tight fitting battery into his VV Gripper and having the two halves separate. He then just snapped it back together without any problems. Haven't had any shorting issues, but I don't care for the 510 connector either. Have had to do a lot of post pulling so my gear will work on other mods after they've been connected to my VV Gripper.

I finally got it apart. I kept on pulling on the two sides of the battery hole for a while. I got a picture of the gripper taken apart and thought that the four holes located at the corners may have glue or a connector, but it turns out the whole box is glued together at the seams. I had to pull on it really hard for a long time and it eventually came apart. I ordered a new 510 to battery connector that I intend to solder in place of the one that came in the device. The installed 510 connector is horrible and I am sure that is what has been causing me so many problems with all do my atomizers. Maybe I just got an extra bad one, but the quality is very poor. Be cautious of this if buying a vv gripper. I would advise others to plan ahead an buy a quality 510 connector for when the one that is installed inevitably has some deficiency. Thanks for the help. Maybe I will post a few pics or video of when I replace the connector.

Glad you got it apart. I'd be interested in seeing some pics of the interior. Solved my problem with post pulling by making a plastic washer out of one of those fake credit cards you get with credit offers and putting it in between the 510 connector and atty's, carto's, etc. It's a shame they had to use these 510 connectors on such a vaping beast.
