time for another review
like all my other reviews, no one is banging down my mailbox to hurl freebs at me, so it's my $ telling the story
(though if anyone wants me to review stuff for them, i'll gladly do it
)
this time it's the 510b disposable from litecigusa.net : Disposable 510 Vaporizer
it pretty much goes without saying that litecig is a pro shipper and has good speed and customer service, but im saying it so those that do not know, will.
i have bee n on a budget lately so i thought i would try this one out. i heard good things about it, and i figured i would at least give it a shot. i got into vaping on a 401 so i was always a bit leery of the 510, as im told they have different personalities. well they do, and that's not a bad thing.
opening the unite it was very similar to the 306b i ordered a few weeks back, in terms of the was it was packaged. cigarette pack sized box, foam insert, to keep everything lined up, carts all individually wrapped, one blank cart ON the atty. USA mix, like the 306. same company makes both (qcig i thinks).
i liked alot of things about this unit from the get go. an easier draw than the 306b, longer battery life, and a blue led tip (i prefer blue). i dont want to begrudge the 306b with these shortcomings, however, becasue, as was pointed out in my last review by a reader, the 306b is a super mini and the 510 is a mini. sort of apples to oranges, in terms of review. anywho. i like the way this unit vapes. great vapor production, the flavor production on this model is quite good, and it looks and feels like a quality piece. given the disposable designation, this always a good thing. the atty design is great, since it REALLY helps in my dripping. i <3 teh drippz. it's not as heavy as i thought it would be, and feels nice in the lips, though it's a bit on the fat side for a smaller person to hold, lip only. the battery was a champ through my first go round, and although i did not run a timer, i kept thinking, "wow, this thing is still going, rock on."
upon further consideration, the thing i really like about this unit is compatibility. its a 510, i mean cmon! the battery and charger are sort of an item, so if either one goes out, just order any quality 510 battery and charger together, as a replacement. charger is for THIS BATTERY ONLY, and to play it safe, i would think the same applies in reverse. the atty is legit though and can be used on the new batteries, as far as i know. pass through is an option too, and so on and so on. it this unit holds up, i imagine it will become my favorite in the rotation, because it has just the right "feel" to it. i do not like units colored like a real cigarette, usually, and i want to visually distinguish my unit from an analog, and this one really looks great. the blue light, and the satin black finish all seem very 20 years in the future to me, and i dig that. (psst: the future is now lol)
like the 306b this unit is a STEAL for 10$ and i'll keep recommending them as long as litecigusa.net keeps them in stock. great as a gift, or as a spare, and good to try a new style, and with the 510 interchange, and better balance of battery life and vapor production this unit has a broad appeal where the 306b might lose some diehards.
a foot note: the unit appeared DOA, at first, so i plugged it into the USB chager and it lit up all nice and pretty, so i took it off and tried to get it to activate, and no dice, so i blew into the battery somewhat firmly and then it worked like a champ. this may be the cause for some of the doa's i have heard about. i like manual batteries, lol. also when the unit is nearing the end of its battery life, it just turns off. like, "oh snap, im outa juice" and when u try and hit it again, it tries to vape, but the battery says no. it's an odd low volt protection, but that seems to be the way it is.
and of course as with any battery you charge, keep an eye on it, and dont let it charger over night. if it gets hot, pull it off the charger and send it back lol.
