So I had no idea vape tongue existed until I looked into what was going on after vaping my own mixed juice. This is the recipe that it happens with....

Nicotine Strength 3.00 mg
PG Level 40.00%
VG Level 60.00%

Nicotine, 3.00%
PG, 25.50%
VG, 58.50%
Mountain Dew, 8.00%
Vanilla Custard, 5.00%

Any idea why this happens after I vape it? I don't notice it with commercial juices that I buy, I'm new at DIY and was wondering if it was in the recipe. The PG/VG is from a local supplier called Vapeplay. Could it be that? The flavors, I think, are relabeled tfa/tpa.

Thanks.

or not bland.... but like a barrier between my tongue and taste. I don't know how to explain it.

idk try cleaning your mouth out...brushing teeth...scraping tongue...mouthwash...the works...and try it again...if that doesn't work you prob have vapors tongue...and you need to pretty much either wait as it passes by...or vape bland juices til it goes away...something that usually just takes time to process...some people say the menthol flavors helps them ect ect...never for me...so if you have juices you bought or made that taste like crap...this is the time to use it get your moneys worth when you can't taste it lol...

There's nothing in that particular recipe that would give you paper's tongue. But if you only vape one flavor, you will eventually develop it.

Sids pretty much covered the things you can do to get your taste back. Some people also recommend rotating juices all the time to avoid the problem.

When I am having trouble with vaper's tongue, I prefer to brush my teeth/tongue a lot, inhale freshly ground coffee, and/or put a little menthol lip balm beneath my nose for a while.

If I really want to re-set my palate, I mix up a menthol/anise juice and vape it for a while. Just 1-2ml of juice usually works for me and when I go back to my savory/cream/nut/caramel/vanilla flavors, they taste phenomenal.

I have had vapor's tongue once and the above ways to cure it work pretty good. My vape taste came back after a day and a half. Nothing to be concerned about and the recipe you posted looks pretty tame. I DIY and generally make 10-15 30 ml bottles at a time using just about the same recipe give or take a few percentages of flavoring. My Vapor's tongue occurred using purchased juice quite some time ago.

did you let your juice steep? sometimes it takes time for the flavors to mix together. when you brew beer do you mix it up and drink it? NEVER!

try leaving it alone for 2 weeks or so. everyday take off the cap (let new air get in), replace the cap, shake the hell out of it and put it back. leave it in a closet or drawer away from light and in a cool place.

I used to buy juice from a shop that mixed in house. some juice would taste like straight vg. after 2 weeks it was delicious!
