So I'm thinking of building my own repairable atomizer on ebay 75feet of resistive wire is $7 with shipping the only big problem I have is getting/making the wick.
All the sites I have seen are not in the US or expensive.

please correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the wicks fiberglass?
could I just get some fiberglass cloth and and start taking out the glass fibers to make a wick?
or do you guys know of any US sellers for the wicks that are somewhat cheep?

thanks

you can use 3 different types of wick, you can use Silica which I would use on a re-build-able Atty, Fiberglass, or ceramic, Silica can be had at McMaster-Carr, but I would try cloudsofvapor for the new Odysuess Wick the newer CE2 Silica is a bit fatter and works best with re-build-able Atty's in my opinion, fiberglass can be had from the wick store, or the Bulli website, and last the ceramic which is excellent in certain applications can be had here = Nextel Braided Ceramic Very High Temperature Sleeving note you will only need the XC-116 wick not the more expensive XC4 there is a minimum order I believe of 15 or 25' I forget which, any less and your order will be kicked back. I would start with the newer fatter silica that is being used in the newer CE2 type carto's like the Vision from Gotvapes dot com,,,,it will give you the best flavor most likely depending on what your building, different re-build-able Atty's can call for a different application of wick depending,,, hope that helps ya out Readability

Wicks are made of silica rope. It's the stuff used to seal oven doors. They sell it by the foot at Ace Hardware. Some use Nextel ceramic rope/sheet, as well.

Most that I have seen are fiberglass...and they are usually impregnated with graphite....do not use that kind.

Silica is very pure silicon dioxide...fiberglass is a lower quality with some impurities.

Here ya go...little extreme but the facts....

Silica it is!!! $1.50 a foot isnt too bad and I saw this on wiki
A study which followed subjects for 15 years found that higher levels of silica in water appeared to decrease the risk of dementia. The study found that with an increase of 10 milligram-per-day of the intake of silica in drinking water, the risk of dementia dropped by 11%
thanks again!
