Hi, I wonder if any of you know if it's at all possible to flavor your juice by macerating herbs and spices in PG and if it's safe.
For example, if I leave rosemary leaves or even chili peppers in PG for 48hrs to a week, would this give me a safe and potent flavor to vape?
thanks
You should get the flavors you are looking for doing this. Which herbs & spices would be safe to vape I can't say. Some would be, others maybe not so much. I can say, though, that organic matter will caramelize and most likely clog your atty very quickly.
Personally, though I love chilies I don't think I ever want to try vaping them. I have made habanero martinis - a real kick in the head. Vaping them? No. Rosemary sounds kinda interesting, in a very low concentration. Safe? Dunno.
You definitely can. Just avoid sugary things like fruit (will kill atties/cartos fast).
There are some long threads around here about doing that. In the tobacco extraction sub-forum here there are a bunch of good threads with info that ought to work with many other flavors. And, here in the main DIY section there's a long thread on making your own coffee flavor. Lots of info in both areas about which techniques work well and which don't.
ETA: I'm just saying that it's definitely possible to do this, not that I know it to be safe.
Hard to say how safe it is, ain't non else to do, other then try, aye? Perhaps should be a bit careful if ya still below 30, brain keep growing in volume until 30.. I dunno..
Honestly, we dont know what is safe and not to safe to inhale regarding flavors yet. Hopefully someday soon we will. So anything is a guess to be honest. I know people to soak vanilla beans etc in alcohol as an extraction process so not sure what your thinking to do would be any different. Its worth a try - good luck =)
Im sure there are herbs and spices to stay away from and yes you can use dry or fresh herbs to extract into pg the same way you would with tea or coffee. Ive done it. However, one I know you should NOT do is nutmeg. It will make you very ill at high concentrations. It is not safe to vape imo.
