Do high PG based juices need less steeping?

just got my diy setup yesterday and my high vg juices seem to need steeping or possibly more flavoring but am going to allow it to steep to see if that brings out the flavors. going to make more batches today to experiment and was wondering if higher PG bases need more steeping time?

currently am using 70% Vg 30% PG 15% single flavoring ( blueraspberry cotton candy ) barely getting any flavor even after breathing/single day of steeping.

just going to try a higher PG based juice maybe 50/50 and was wondering if it would still need time to steep? possibly going to try 20% flavoring as well I can barely taste anything from the 15% then again PG is the flavor carrier

I meant like a 50/50 ration no less lol. my current juices were at 70 vg 30 pg 15% single flavoring and after a day it still practically tastes the same a LITTLE improvement but the same. just mixed a 50/50 batch 20% flavoring of the same kind and nope it didn't work seems like this juice is going to need steeping. I've just heard some flavors you could vape off the bat after mixing. vapable though well don't think I will ever make another 50/50 batch this throat hit is pretty damn harsh for a 2mg nic. almost feels like I'm vaping 3mg.

As a general rule, I find that heavy VG juice needs more flavoring/steeping.

At 20% of just about any flavor, you should be getting at least a decent taste. A cotton candy ought to be hitting pretty hard and sweet at that level. Whose flavorings are you using and while your at it, why don't you list your numbers (your actual recipe amounts not %).

I was just thinking about this last night. I think a couple things are going on...

VG doesn't carry flavor as well as PG. So you have half (or less) as much flavor carrier. That means you will need more flavoring for a higher VG juice.

Back when I used PG only, steeping wasn't nearly as necessary as it is with a 50-50 blend or high VG blend. Now, I use 50-50 and I still find that it takes a while for the flavors to meld.

I think the thickness of the VG is what prevents it from happening. My technique is to give it a warm water bath immediately after adding the flavors and then shaking the heck out of it.

30ml batch - 2.5ml nic (24mg strength ) , flavoring 6ml ( PG based ), VG 12.53ml, Pg, 8.97ml for a 50/50 blend. I have a 70/30 blend with 15% flavoring only. you think it just needs more steeping or basically more flavoring? oh and the flavor is Blue Raspberry Cotton candy by Capella. bought from wizard lab. it has a VERY chemical taste when I vape it off the bat letting them breath the 70/30 allowed to breath about 6 hours only will try for 12hours.

flavor imo is meh even with the 50/50 blend

I'm not an expert, my Ejuice successes can still be counted on one hand. But, my feeling is that it's a lot of flavor (25%?)and probably needs to steep.

It's also possible that you need either a sweetener to enhance or something like EM.

this should be ready to go right away. I mix max VG and cotton candy needs zero steep time. My first suggestion would be to dilute some, so a ml of finished juice mixed with a ml of plain vg. Just to see if you are getting flavor at the reduced ratio. Basically you are vaping EM at 20% which seems pretty high to me.

that is the 50/50 and yea I think it is too high will probably fix that juice. the 70/30 I'm vaping atm still has little flavor at 15% 12 hour breathing. unless the taste is supposed to be chemically. I get a blueraspberry exhale but no cotton candy. 15% might have been too high as well will try a 10% batch or even a 5% and see how it goes.

Yes, higher VG means more steep time and possibly also more flavoring is needed. 50/50 is still pretty high VG, so it will still need steep time. If you want something vapable right away, go to about 75% PG or more, and 25%-30% flavoring.
