I just received my order from DIY and am quite pleased. I am new to vaping and my first bottle of juice from another vendor was bland at best. This order from DIY has turned my whole experience around! I can actually taste the flavors! OK so here are the flavors I ordered:
Black & Mild - Tastes like a freshly champed mild. Nice pipe tobacco taste. Smoothe with a slight tobacco bite. 10/10
Blueberry (double flavor) - Very nice, fruity and sweet. Kinda like BooBerry cereal. 9/10
Bana's Foster - WOW! that was my first impression. Definate banana flavor and brown sugar flavor. Very sweet but not too much. Perfect for dessert. 9/10
Marl B - (double flavor VG) - It is nice, I can taste a strong vanilla sweetness and some tobacco flavor. First toke gave me a definate MB flavor but it was soon taken over by the sweetness. 7/10
All these flavors were tested on a standard Joye 510 using the drip method.

I am still using my 555 double flavor. This is not the orange 555, it's the yellow one. The one with VG.

My mom is still using the RY4 and still prefers this over all others, although she also likes the Dunhill (which is similar to 555 and Marlb)

We haven't gotten to the other flavors, but in the past I have used the red hots and the grape, and the remain my favorite non tobacco flavors. The red hots is very strong and can double as air freshner in your car lol.

The grape is very sweet and can nick that sweet craving you may be having... a win win.

Most but not ALL tobacco ejuice tends towards the slightly sweet - some of it is the VG and PG - it adds a trace of sweetness. Nothing is going to taste exactly like a tobacco cig btw - and tbh Im glad lol -but some people still want the more tobacco less sweet taste. There are as many different flavors under the heading 'tobacco' as there are vendors, and they vary from one to the next. One person's 'this isn't sweet' is another person's 'this is too sweet'. Its a bit of a lottery.
Personally I enjoy almost ALL the tobacco flavors Ive tried from various places (still on the fence about Halo freedom) and DIYF's RY4 (that IS sweet) and shack555 (more nutty than sweet imo) are 2 of my 'staples'.
You also might be one of the people that can taste 'sweet' even in tiny amounts (even if you LOVE sweet things) so bear that in mind.

OP, my boyfriend has been raving about the Marl B flavor since I got it for him a few weeks ago. We've tried countless other places for that particular flavor and won't be going anywhere else now since trying DIY flavorshack. I've been ordering some of her dessert/coffee type flavors and every single one has been fabulous. The only one I wasn't fond of was a freebie and it was the black cherry forest flavor. I'm not a huge dark chocolate fan though, to be fair. I don't see us shopping anywhere else for juices :D

Hokey, I would email her and let her know. Smell the liquid in the bottle... if it smells chemically then it's the liquid. If it doesn't, but your ecig does, then it is the atomizer. Sometimes that happens for no apparent reason. I have used crest pro health soaks on those funky atomizers with great success. Put the yucky old atomizers in the crest pro health mouthwash and let it sit for a day or two... shake it up a bit... and then let it sit in water for a day or two and shake it up some more, then let them dry for a few days on paper towels. You will have to reprime them with a basic liquid you don't really care about. Oh Hokey, I almost forgot, I would definitely double flavor tobacco flavors, but you definitely don't want to double flavor the redhots or grape.... Watermelon is very sweet as well.

If you like sweet... try the red hots, grape and one of my favorites is cappucino.

To those who don't like sweet tobacco, try Dunhill, Flue Cured, and Lama (camel)
The RY4 is very very sweet.

I too had a bad run-in with the black forest cake. The cherry flavoring has an awful cough syrup flavor (mmm dark chocolate and medicine), but my other flavors from DIY have been very nice. I was surprised at how much I'm grooving on the free banana nut muffin flavor I received. It has a wonderful cakey-ness to it. I also really like the black and mild and the caramel RY4 (CaptJay had recommended it in other posts). Oh and the java poundcake (another freebie) isn't too shabby either. I swear the raw liquid smells just like chocolate batter! Despite how bad the black forest was, Dawn has found a repeat customer in me.
