so i'm new to the forum.. YaY

i've been vaping a few months now and have been trying to mix flavors using mostly fruity flavors (strawberry, raspberry, pomegranate, watermelon, peach, raspberry, dragonfruit, tutti frutti.... some cotton candy, graham cracker, vanilla, caramel cheesecake, sweet cream), but i cannot get any kind of 'body' out of the juice like the flavors i try from, say, ECBlends Dragon Series.. i've tried steeping and playing around with flavor percentages, but always seem to end up with a bottle that tastes like absolutely nothing because i've added way too much flavor, or it ends up tasting like... a hint of berry lost in flavorless nic-juice...

also, i use nicotine, pg, vg and flavor (TFA, LorAnn and Flavor West (and MBV but i read somewhere on here that they use Flavor West??)

any suggestions on how to make, say a 'just Strawberry' flavor taste like full bodied strawberries on the inhale and exhale??

Capella's sweet strawberry. Start at 5-7%. simply easy and delicious. Also go here.

i've been reading around and decided i would definitely give that one a try. have you tried their other flavors.. like blueberry, cheesecake or graham cracker? (the graham cracker from FW has helped out my flavors a lot)
I like flavor west yellow cake. some of flavor west flavors are weak, but not this. Start this one at around 10% and go up if needed.
I like capella's vanilla custard, but it is potent. Cheescake from capella's --don't like so much. but TPA cheescake is ok.
Capella's banana is ok, tastes like a bit candied if you go too high on %. It also takes some steep time.

Steep time for capella's sweet strawberry, good as soon as you mix it, gets better with age. Same as flavor west yellow cake.
I have bought flavor west bubblegum already mixed and it is good. Have yet to mix any myself tho. And the bubblegum from DIYflavorshack already mixed is really good.

When you go to the DIY forum, look for the free calculators for mixing ejuice. Very easy to use. Just start in section one(of the ejuice formula boxes) and go down from there.

Another thing you can use the cotton candy as a sweetner. Most members believe that is just ethyl maltol at 10%. You can also buy the ethyl maltol crystals and mix it yourself. 1/4 tsp to 10ml pg. Shake very well and run bottle under very hot water to help dissolve the crystals. Keep shaking until you see most of the crystals gone.

Can you post a recipe you've tried? Someone may suggest adjustments, etc...
I've got a decent Strawberry/Banana.
Or try Strawberries 'N Cream:
10% TFA Strawberry
10% TFA Bavarian Cream

all Flavor West
strawberry 9%
cheesecake 9%
graham cracker 2.5%

8mg Nic, 50PG50VG

this didn't taste bad at all... just no one had a clue that it was supposed to be strawberry cheesecake... no strawberry taste.. no cheesecake taste...

---------------------------------------------

from MBV
strawberry 11%
sweet cream 4%

from LorAnn
pomegranate 4%

4.5mg Nic, 70PG30VG

this one started off as double the amount of flavors and nicotine listed here and everything was just muted... after i cut it in half, to the percentages above, and added 8% graham cracker from Flavor West, i can taste the flavors

---------------------------------------------

made TFA watermelon at 13.5% with 2% sweetener from MBV and it tastes like Now&Later... not what i was shooting for, but not bad at all.. still too light though.. not satisfying

when i use all this sweetener from MBV, i will most likely get the ethyl maltol crystals.. thanks again!

Ethyl Maltol also known as Cotton Candy is sweet and it tones down the bite on some flavors. I made a nice lemonade with sucralose (TFA Sweetener) but had it a tiny bit sweeter than I wanted so I used Cotton Candy instead on the next batch. It took the zing out of my lemon which wasn't what I was shooting for so back to the sucralose on that recipe.

This sounds like an ingredient in a "Zombie Antidote" flavor I tried that I thought tasted kinda like Sweet Tart candy. It's SO mellow on the throat-hit, that I almost thought there was no nic. in it at first lol. It's like instead of the feeling you'd expect in your throat for the given amount of vapor inhaled, it's much softer and feels like it's delayed, cuz you don't feel it at first. I'd sometimes end up vaping more because of this, and would get a stronger nic. hit than usual.

wow WileE.. that's a lot.. i just took a peek and i'm gonna have to check back or take a closer look, because it looks like it could be a great starting point.. i see a lot of 0% on what looks like a suggested percentage for that particular flavor..
I can't take the credit on that material but I have built like 5 juices so far from the recipes and so far I am happy with them.
