So my package from Wizard Labs arrived! I am super excited to get into DIYing... I have read that a lot of people use flavorings around the 10-15% range. Should I start lower at around 5-10% since it is my first time? I'm probably going to start real small with 3ml bottles and wanted to know if 5% would be better for that small amount or just go straight to 10%.

All the flavors I bought are from TFA and I think the wizard labs site recommended using just 5% and doing more if needed... just wanted to hear other people's opinion.

Make a lick test with every single flavoring. Just put a small drop on your finger and taste it, that way you can judge the strength.
Also, start low - you can add more later.

With new flavorings that I don't know I usually:

Look online to try and find recipes with it
Make a lick test
Start low with only 10ml of pure VG, no nic, only one flavoring
Taste it just after mixing, maybe add more right then
Wait a day
Taste it again, maybe add some flavoring
Repeat until its right.

Don't be afraid of very low or very high numbers, I have flavourngs that I use at 20% (Capella Vanilla Custard) and some I use at 0.2% (F'arts Latakia in some recipes)

Only try 3 or 4 in one session, or your taste buds will shut off.

I keep the samples for a few months as mixer bases and to judge steeping.

Oh, and I maintain a mixing spreadsheet where I keep all the percentages and changes.

what did your shopping list look like at wizards?

If it smells like cologne, leave it alone - wasn't that the old saying? Definitely applies to juice too.
