I've made up some TPA Double RY4 - only 4% and 1%EM, 3 day steeped. Good vape and all but leaves me with extremely dry mouth and tongue feeling that last over an hour. What's wrong? Wrong PH, not steeped enough.....can't work it out.
I can only speak from my experience so not sure if this is universal. On a few occasions I wanted to make a vape a little sweeter by adding some sweetner to it. I'm talking about liquid that is already in the tank. I add a couple drops and shake. The flavor does become sweeter but also much drier. the following is a recipe that I use with ry4d that is not dry.
ry4 double 10%
carmel candy 5%
Bavarian cream 5%
vanilla swirl 1%
tabacco absolute 1 drop per 5ml
I've had that, if it's good but just dry, I simply add a couple of drops of water to what's in the tank. Too much sweet can do it, but so can simply the tannins in the flavors (especially with tobacco.) and more sweet can override that too. Just trial and error to see what that juice needs. If you like the flavor and sweet as is, I'd try water first.
You do not mention your PG/VG ratio. For me higher PG %'s give me an extremely dry mouth and throat. You may be in the same boat I am in. I do everything 40PG/60VG or 50/50 and it is much more bearable for me compared to 70/30 and up.
I should clarify that dry taste. It's not dry like from PG/VG. It's more like astringent after taste. Can't actually taste it but stays on my tongue and mouth for a long time. Just like eating some leafy greens or un-riped green bananas. That's probably the closest description I can come up with. I still have some of that feeling remaining in my mouth and last I vaped it was about 20 hours ego.
Could it be something else?? I drink so much coffee it can sometimes get me out of whack a little, although I'd describe it as metallic rather than dry. Detailed Listing of Acid / Alkaline Forming Foods

^^ Yeal, I don't think they had all their ducks in a row in that article, but still food for thought. As far as remedies, I often drink a little buttermilk which I think is slightly alkaline and also aids digestion. But then again, I like it and probably a lot of folks don't.
Also, I've seen some posts that recommend a certain gum for vapors tongue, but I can't think of the name right at the moment. Dang old timers disease.
