If you know how to use the advanced search function, also do a "search titles only" search for "starter kits" in the DIY section. A quick scan through a few of the threads that pop up will yield some suggested vendor links for you. Keep a notebook handy, you just may need it if you do pursue the DIY route :)

I personally find that the kits are just to high priced for what you get. The supplies needed are very minimal. Here is basically all I need.

Nic - https://www.myfreedomsmokes.com/nicotine-base-flavorings/nicotine-solutions/unflavored-nicotine-smoke-juice-e-liquid-9395.html This is a fantastic price on nic.

PG and VG - http://www.essentialdepot.com/servlet/the-218/1-Gallon-Veg-Glycerin/Detail When you consider the quanity, it just seems more economical to me.

Graduated Cylinder - Graduated Cylinder Bomex Glass - 100ml

Pipettes are nice to have but I rarely use anymore. I picked up some syringes at my local Sam's Club Pharmacy for like $.23 a piece. (as you can tell, I'm frugal) :D

I have tried many flavorings and come to just use the gourmet and super concentrated flavorings at DIY Flavoring / DIY E Liquid Concentrated Flavors at VZ - E Cig eGo, E juice, Mods, Cartomizers, Liquid Nicotine, DIY Flavorings You use such a small amount that I feel like it is saving me even more and I have been so pleased with everyone I have tried.

Just trying to help, didn't mean to bombard you with so much. Good luck to you and remember there are so many wonderful DIY threads and there are always people around here that want to help. The main thing is just to have fun. :)

I asked my pharmacist if he had some empty bottles and blunt syringes for making precise measurements he could sell me. Turns out he had excess inventory and no idea how much to charge for them so he just gave me most everything I needed. I made my own high speed stir stick that fits my dremel tool which is very effective at high speed mixing - of course if you go all the way up to 35,000 RPM you are likely to have an accident (spill). Basically if you have the ingredients and some empty bottles the rest is easily obtained.
