Whether you need a sweetener or not is up to your taste buds. ;) Cotton Candy is a good one so is EM (Ethyl Maltol). Some like stevia. Me...I love Ez-Sweetz but sweeteners are going to gunk up your coils fast so if Cotton Candy works for you than your good. There are a lot of flavorings that are already sweet and don't need extra sweetener.

I use other flavors to sweeten rather than using a sweetener. As mentioned, they do gunk coils up quickly. I am not fond of vaping overly sweet flavors though so YMMV

I use flavors such as marshmallow, white chocolate, etc. All depends on what I am mixing it with.

Good luck on your DIY journey. It can be very rewarding.

Ditto 2x to my fellow vets posts above mine. :)

If you really want to learn DIY then learn to use flavors to make a mix "sweet" or "tart' or "semi sweet". No offence intended but IMHO using a "sweetner" is a rather crude way to mix. Yes, I know it's popular but that's because it's easy BUT it lacks a real flavor profile. When flavors mix they often produce a juice that taste different than the respective names. Here is a simple mix to illustrate this:

Sweet Tangerine (CA)
Orange Cream (TFA)

I don't taste Orange but the total mix has a subtle and enjoyable "semi sweet" flavor and the dominant tone is still Tangerine. Quite a different taste than if I only used Sweet Tangerine as a stand alone.

What's in a name? It can be challenging to wrap your head around this issue. Another illustration for your reading pleasure. You want to add a "Pie Crust" to a mix. Use FA Apple Pie in a small amount (2%) with your fruit mixes and BINGO a yummy fruit pie with just the right amount of Crust.

Try reading this outstanding series of notes on flavors by a super super talented mixolagist. It's worth it's weight in GOLD.

Good luck and thanks for asking a great question.

:)
