For years I've been paying $20.00 a bottle for Halo juice. Hate the Chinese stuff.
Always thought about DIY but figured the final product wouldn't be good.

I was wrong, I've been pissing money down the drain.
Doing the math I've figured out my cost for liquid is around $5.60 a 28ml bottle
RTS Vapes Base and Capellas Flavorings at 20% verse around $20.00 a bottle of the high quality American e-liquid.

Just whipped up my first batch of e-liquid.
It was Easy, Everyone makes it seem so complicated, but the reality is that you just need a 2 ml syringe.
Take your flavors and pull from the different flavors in whatever % you like. Pop in the 28ml bottle. Fill 1/2 way with the Nicotine Solution (36mg safe, 48mg+ Edgy ) and a little water. Add more Nicotine solution and water if flavor is too strong and you are off and running.

My first creation was:
Flavor Apprentice Flavoring
2ml of 3 flavorings combined
Hazelnut
Coconut Extra
Sweet Cream

Around 1/2 ml of water

Than filled the bottle around 1/2 with RTS Vapes VG 36mg Liquid
I steeped it in hot water, I have a feeling that the liquid is going to taste even better after a few days of
steeping.

I'm hooked, it was fun, I found I can make a quality product and save money too.

Yes, it's not difficult..unless you're me lol. I DIY unflavored for me to keep around and simple 1 flavor butterscotch for my bf. I tried doing DIY on a bigger scale a couple years ago and hated everything I made lol. I was using Loranns flavorings though and never tried the other flavorings, but the only other successful flavor I could make was caramel apple, but I got sick of it lol

I might pick up some other flavorings and give it another go.

I just started mixing my own juices as well and I share your enthusiasm. Having said that, you have to be careful making blanket statements like the part of your post that I highlighted. If someone were using 100mg nicotine base, you're instructions could have them vaping 50mg or higher juice which is a pretty heavy dose.

I do see that lower down in your post you state you're using 36mg base but since you're aiming this post at folks who haven't done this before you may want to be (very) specific when it comes to the nicotine.

Just my :2c:

BTW, I'll have to try that coconut cream hazelnut ;)

If you decide to give it another try I highly recommend Capella's flavorings. They're easy to mix at 15-20% pretty much across the board, taste like the label says, no perfume or chemical taste and IMO are the best quality available. It's pretty hard to fail when using Capella's, not so with other flavoring companies. Later, if you want to become a mixmaster, FlavourArt, Flavor Apprentice and some others may be preferred.

The butterscotch I use is from Perfumer's Apprentice and I really like that so I just picked up a few other flavors to see what I could come up with. My bf is tired of butterscotch so I'll play mad scientist a bit and see if i can't mix up something new for him.

Perfumer's Apprentice flavors are hard to work with IMO. I had a hard time finding anything worth vaping, for my preferences at least. They sound good but seldom do they taste like they smell. There are a few exceptions but probably less than 25%. Just giving you my experience after trying most of the flavorings from both Perfumer's Apprentice (now The Flavor Apprentice) and Capella.

Tim is right, I edited the post and added 36mg safe and 48mg+ Edgy. Everyone has a different tolerance to Nic.

To make it simple RTS sells the PG Nic in strengths from 36mg to xyx mg (Forum Rules are that you can't mention Nic above certain levels).
They also sell the VG and PG Base no Nic. So if you like lower Nic just buy a bottle of the Non Nicotine base (very inexpensive) and substitute enough to cut down to the level that you like. Simple mathematics. I was trying to keep it simple and not mention too many variables.

I've been Vaping this for an hour and it just keeps getting better. My 10 Year old Daughter says it smells like Candy Corn. I asked her if she liked the smell and she said she loves the smell of Candy Corn.

I'm going to try Capellas next because so many of the Veterans swear by it. Initially I considered it but had trouble finding a place that sold it in my Internet Searches. The best deal seems to be at http://capellaflavordrops.com where they sell 5 / 13ml flavors for $20.00 + $3.67 shipping first class

Right on and thanks for doing that! And I agree with you on the Capellas 5-pack deal being the way to go. It's much cheaper than buying single bottles: $0.30 per ml vs. $0.45. I ordered 3 of them earlier this week :)
