So I have a dna 200 device on the way and so started thinking about builds that would suit the device. I have a Beast 200w mod that I put some big builds in and I am thinking the same would work in nickel.

For example I made some fused Clapton coils (2x26g wrapped in 28g Ni 200 then coiled 6 wraps around 4mm) running in dual config it will be a 0.25 build. I am thinking the 200w preheat will make a build like this ideal for the dna 200. Any thoughts, experience would be appreciated.

Are you sure that's a 0.25 nickel build? It seems like it'd be way way lower than that.

So I just watched Rip Trippers talk about the Vapor Shark DNA 200 and he mentioned that he has been having issues with the DNA 200 not reading Clapton coils ........ Might have to use just straight up duals in TC control for now.....
Eh, I'd say give it a try and see what happens. If nothing else, try making them spaced. I saw a couple videos and he had his touching.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I'm confused as to why you'd fuse 2x26g (you didn't mention) with 28g Ni200. What I would do is fuse 2x28gNi200 with 40g N80, and leave some space for the leads so only the Ni200 is being read and single coil 12 wrap spaced on a 3mm bit & curved around the deck of the atty. That way it would be read as a parallel 28g Ni200 build, and the Nichrome wouldn't be a factor.

Thanks Tom Forde, I do not have experience doing Claptons with Nickle at all which is why I put this post up:blush: Thanks for the suggestion I will give that a go!

Typically with N80 I run the fused Clapton closer to what you are suggesting although still having all wire secured at the terminals. I am guessing the coil holds a lot of juice and the wires heat up differently which helps flavor. All I can say for sure is that so far these builds have been my favorite thus far and would like to get something similar going with TC.

If you leave the leads of the 40g N80 off the 28g core wires, so that only the nickel is going into your post holes and making contact, only the nickel wire will be heating up from the mod. The N80 wrap would heat up as a result of the 2x28g Ni200 core wires. Less variables = less headache.

What you are saying makes perfect sense to me.

This is my first titanium build... don't judge! 10 wrap 26ga on 2.5mm. Been going strong for a couple weeks now and haven't had the heart the change it. Awesome flavor! Yes, it's due to be rewicked and next time I'll try using less cotton. The juice I'm using usually kills a coil after just a few days...
