DNA200 help

So my DX200 DNA200 mod just bricked. Both my Mac USB and my Virtual Box USB still recognizes it when its plugged in but not as a DNA200 device but as some ELPSCGODWTVO device.

tried a soft/hard reboot using escribe but it gave me a nothing connected error message.

Try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery. I had similar problems and this worked for me.

thanks but didn't help. The Mod is plugged in my Mac via USB using Virtualbox without any battery connected. It's bricked and as mentioned Mac and Virtual Box USB recognizes something connected but just not a DNA200.

That is a recover chip on the board, you should be able to force a firmware update under tools. It happens when you have a failed firmware update. I have had it twice, but I will warn you that I had to find a windows computer to do the force upgrade as it would not take in Virtialbox on my mac.

Plugged it in an actual Windows computer. Fixed my mod. Gave me a firmware not finished message upon plugin so I'm guessing something happened with virtual box during the update which caused the mod to brick out.

Anyway glad I have this forum.

Great. Yes, VirtualBox will occasionally have a USB timeout that can bork a firmware update, but a windows system can recover it.

quick question. Do I need to update the battery mah in escribe whenever I swap from 900mah to 1300mah lipo or does the chip recognize it automatically.

I use two releauxs and both have 18650's so I've not had to change the settings since I installed them

Well the mod will still work no matter which battery you have in there 900mah or 1300mah lipo, its just the battery meter on the mod will be off since it doesn't automatically recognize the mah or Wh.

So if its set to a 1300mah 11.1v 3cell lipo and you swap in your 900mah its going to feel like the 900mah is lasting you longer than it actually will.

The chip won't recognise the capacity automatically so you need to run battery analyser or configure manually. However, if you don't enter the new values the only thing that happens is that the battery meter isn't optimally accurate.
