I'm a little stumped with my hcigar Vt75C which has a DNA75C. No problems at all in the three months I've owned it. Just received two new mods so set the VT75C on the shelf a couple of days ago. Took it off tonight, threw in a battery now everytime I hit the fire button Temp Protection registers. coils are fine, cell fully charged, cotton wet, no issues at all to cause this. Settings have not been changed at all in three months. This just started with no reason for it. The only thing I can think to do is tear it down and rebuild the rda. Works fine on wattage mode. I didn't spend this much money for a DNA75 to be forced to run it like a $20. Chinese clone. Little frustrating to say the least and people wonder why I hesitated to spend alot of money on a mod in the past. The devices firmware has never been altered due to lack of access to a PC that's not encrypted to download from the software from Evolv.

Yes ran through the entire menu and all settings are as they were as I stated nothing is any different in the system. Only thing is it was setting a couple days no cell installed. Only difference was using a 18650 instead of the usual 26650's that I've always used in it. The 18650 is less than a year old but is the only issue I can think of? Has me really stumped is why a rebuild and back to the 26650 is all I could think of. This has been a great device no issues at all until this?

Maybe Ω is too low to run with 18650?
Good 18650s actually handle low resistances better than 26650s (depending on the 18650 of course). That 26650s can handle lower resistances/more power is a common misconception, which is unfortunately fueled by manufacturers allowing for higher wattages with 26650s. Also, the resistance doesn't factor in on a regulated mod. The cell might not be able to handle high wattage, but it wouldn't care what the resistance was.

Have you tried a soft reset through eScribe? Or a hard reset to revert to factory settings? It is possible that with the 75c (conjecture only on my part) may need a trickle current to properly maintain settings. A shot in the dark, but one thought.

This is likely a troubleshooting matter that eScribe can help out with.

As I said in my post I have no access to the eScibe software and the mod has operated three months exactly the same now it doesn't. I've gone to Evolv since everyone keeps suggesting it's a settings issur or something when like I said it worked for three months. I don't change settings, the exact same RDA nothing has been altered in anyway from the three months. It's not an ohm problem since it's always been set at 0.30ohms since I received and built it.

I love the 75C board but I only have it in the Hcigar Vt 75C. The mod has been set up in Escribe including the mod resistance and the case thermals and the battery soft cell cutoff. If the mod sits for even a few minutes it asks if it is new/old coil and gets the check battery at 3.40v or higher with brand new Sony VTC 5a batteries. In Escribe the battery sag is fine upon firing. I think it is the Hcigar mod vs. the board. Here is some discussion of it

I think I've read that escribe can now work with ios.

Didn't see you had no access to eScribe. If it doesn't resolve or recurs then opening a ticket with Evolv might be necessary. As for eScribe, right now it is PC with a Mac beta, there is no iOS or other phone/tablet version.

VTC 75C Warning

I had not seen that thread before. I don't have one, but after reading that, would probably pass on it as well. I do have an original VT75 I use with a 26650 without a problem, although I hate the battery cap threading, so I leave it in and charge internally.

Is it reading your coil as a temp coil? Not familiar with the 75c but on DNA 75 mods sometimes I have to get it to reread the coil before tc will work. In my case if the display shows temperature, ohms, voltage, amps. It's not reading it as a tc coil. Now after reseating topper and it reads SS where voltage is then I know I'm using tc. Kinda confusing but hope that helps. Some rda/rta are finicky in tc. If your using drop in coils sometimes you might get a finicky one to.

Tonight mine just tossed up thermal temp after the mod was sitting cold for over an hour.. not the first time it's done this.

I just removed the Entheon rba from the Therion bf 75c mod and whipped the 510 clean and reattached the atty and it was fine after it asked if it was a new coil. Selected no.

Thanks everyone solution found. The chip forms a memory. It was always used with a 26650. Upon using the 18650 the board views that as a 26650 and puts that demand on the 18650 and you have to use eScribe to reset that issue so was told to reset it and go back to the battery I commonly use with the device and stick with those cells. Followed those directions and that worked issue solved.

I understand have a RX300 brand new that's a paperweight the local shop sent me to Wismec, Wismec back to the shop. Felt like a ping pong ball lol. Tried Artic Fox absolutely everything but nothing prevailed so I just don't buy their products anymore and have a $55.00 paperweight. Such is life no going to have a brake down over it lol. Thanks for your response.
