Hi all

I ran out of eliquid last night so bought some eliquid from ASDA (AKA walmart in US). It's called vivid eliquid and does not mention the VG/PG ratio. With every vape I felt my chest tightening and had asthma symptoms. Does it take a while to get accustomed to PG, as it works out cheaper buying it from ASDA or is PG a known irritant for asthmatics?

Thanks

Welp, PG is known to be an irritant even according to Dow Chemical. For most people that's called "throat hit", for other people it's called "harsh and irritating." I don't think there is anything directly documenting PG as an asthma trigger but I could see that as possible. Unfortunately since you have a mystery liquid going on here it's only guessing as to what's in the liquid that is the source of the problem.

Oh wow. If that's a high PG liquid it could be 80% PG or more.

It's not definitive, but when you tilt the bottle back and forth does the liquid move like it's thin as water? PG is very thin and in general the higher the PG content the more it resembles water. High VG, on the other hand, would look like it's practically clinging to the sides of the bottle as you tilt back and forth.

Yeah. PG can be an irritant, anything that's an irritant can make asthma flare up.

ANYTHING INHALED can cause asthma flare-ups.

Personally I find VG more of an irritant to my lungs, PG an irritant to my throat. More than 45% VG I get heavy lungs/chest. High PG just causes a little bit of scratchy throat if I don't drink enough water.

I Find too high a NIC level for the wattage to be the MOST irritating irritant.

I am looking and can not find that at walmart - what is the name and please full name so I can find it??

I think they meant that the store they went to was the equivalent of Walmart. It wasn't actually Walmart.

OP is in England and the store he is referencing is on the order of our WalMart.
