Heyas Woody,

If you have the normal ego (not the ego-t) all your stuff should work on a normal 510 battery, except the cone which you wouldn't need anyways. If you have the ego-t, I'm pretty sure the t atty's won't work on a normal 510 battery (but I don't have a t atty in front of me, so I'm not 100% positive on that. And I'm too lazy to walk up 2 flights of stairs to check :p )

Also, if you have LR atty's or carto's, I wouldn't try using them on a normal (slim) 510 batt.

The ego- t attys will work on a 510, it just might look funny. But yeah if you just got a regular ego your cart/carto/atty will work on a 510 and look like a 510. Keep in mind that your egos generally last longer between charges then standard 510s. So I would suggest that you order atleast 2 510 batts if you are gonna make the swap.

Yep...no problem. In fact, I have two Joye 510's, one eGo battery, and one eGot-T Batt. (Really the only difference between the eGo and eGo-t is the "safety switch" to allow turning it off, as far as I know).
I generally use the eGo batteries for their longer time between charges, but sometime love that "feeling" of the size of a "real" cig like the 510 offers. I switch around my Cartos between them all the time.
The only thing, as mentioned, is you're not supposed to use LR Cartos with the 510...although I often forget and use them anyway with no ill effects that I've noticed. Well, except maybe that I've had to charge the 510 a lot sooner. ;)

Woody, the cartos and atomizers are all interchangeable between the Ego and the 510.

You can NOT, however, use the same charger. The Ego charger will overcharge the 510 batteries and ruin them.

You are better off just to get the complete 510 starter kit, so you will have the proper charger. That way you will have 2 batteries too, and a couple more attys.

If you get a regular Joye 510 battery from Cignot you'll need a charger as well. The Ego charger will fry it quick. They also sell the genuine Joye cartomizers. Although you need a syringe to fill them they last a long time. I see you live in Chicago. When you say you're going to drop in to Cignot does that mean literally? If you live close enough to their brick and mortar store you are one lucky individual. You'll get all the help you need there. Battery life on the standard 510 is a little short depending on how much you use it during the day. There are some with a little higher capacity if you shop around and it becomes a problem. You might also look at the KR808-D1 system for longer battery life in a cig like. Volt from Smokless Image, Halo G6, Bloog are all 2nd generation and perform well. I prefer them myself and switched to them from Egos and Rivas for my primary PV.

Hey Woody Dennis at cignot is very friendly and will answer any questions you may have .
Also will let you sample different juices as well.
I enjoyed chatting and the atmosphere as well he fully demonstrated how to take the coil/wick out of the atty and clean at the sink.
I learned a lot from that trip and the hour drive there was well worth it and since then have been making my own wicks now and then.
Ask the staff there any thing you need to know about the ego's.

Battery life is not really an issue, I would really like something a bit smaller and life like. Yes I live about 15 minutes from cignot, I got my ego there last tuesday and dennis took care of me. Thanks everyone

Wow. In case you don't know how lucky you are, you live near one of the best and most respected vendors on the forum imo. Their products and customer service are outstanding. You can check out the reviews on this forum. It's probably just as well that I don't live that close though. I'd need more credit cards lol. The standard white 510 batteries with the brown cartos is probably about as lifelike as you're going to find. Two of those batts and a PCC should take care of you all day in spite of what some think. Congratulations and welcome to the forum.

NO - For two reasons

Slim 510 cannot use the Ego charger (will damage slim batteries - too many mA)

Slim 510 cannot use LR attachments (atomizers and cartomizers) so if you are using LR stuff you should not put those on the slim 510 battery. I general I think stuff below 2.5 ohms is LR

YES - if they have their own charging cables (420mA output for Ego only, 150-250mA output one for slim 510) and if you only use standard resistance atomizers and cartomizers on the slim 510

Label your Ego chargers at the battery end to make sure you don't put the slim 510 in it. And you better buy a spare 510 charger for work because slim 510 is 180mah battery (about 2 hours of moderate vaping). There is a nice PCC at NoSmokeVA.com (search for PCC and the $29 one is the PCC alone)

And be smart and buy a manual 510 and buy real Joye because if you buy a clone 510 you may end up with the one that will FRY (literally) in an Ego charger
