I use a Joye 510 PV and have been using atty's with it (them) but am looking into switching to carto's and have a question. It seems silly to me, but I can't find any info on it. My question is...do I have to use a drip tip with the carto or can I use an empty cartridge that I use with the atty's? I don't really like the look of the drip tips and not sure I would like them. I use a flat end cartridge for use with my atty's, not the round ones, because and don't like the round shape. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Same here.
I also use drip tip on my cartos (when i use them) for two reasons.
1->Improves the airflow
2->Easier to put some drops in the carto so it won't get dry and burn

With these reasons, i give you an advice also....don't ever let the carto dry or you will get a burnt taste that will never disappear.
Also, since you have a joye 510, don't get any LR or dual coil or even triple coil because it will stress out your batts.
LR and multiple coils need a bit more power and the joye 510 only has batts with 180 and 280mAh (if i am not mistaken that is).

And forgot one thing... Yes, you can use the carts like a drip tip. Just remove the white cap (with a clip or something) and put the cart in there.

Some good advice! So, if I use a drip tip I can just drip into the tip and it will go down into the carto? Even if it's a genuine Joye510 carto which you have to pierce before using? The instructions I've read say to use a blunt point needle to fill it. Of course, I'm lazy and I want to do what's easiest :) Thanks!!

The GenJoye cartos I've had are too narrow for a drip tip... I use a tip on all other cartos... I enjoy the feel on my lip.
