Absolutely! You need to make sure that your build doesn't have a short before firing it on a mech. I use the same build pretty much all the time and still check every build. I loose piece of wire, a tail to long and short could be a big problem. Make sure that you test it cap off and cap on too, a short to the cap can lead to a vented battery.
