I'm looking into purchasing a Lil' Mama soon but have a questions about the cartos I need for it. I notice in all the pictures people post on here and on BDV's website there is a stainless steel carto inside of the tank. Is this a must? I have quite a stock of Boge LR cartos from iVape that are black or at least have a black wrapping on them. Is it a no-no to put these cartos in the tank? I can potentially see an issue since this since the outside of the carto will be saturated in eliquid - possibly causing it to disintegrate the wrap on the carto and maybe affecting the taste of the liquid?

Or maybe I'm completley off base. Just thought I'd get some input from the community before I slap one in a tank without knowing the facts!

Well they have to be punched. Most of the time if they arent stainless they are wrapped with a colored sticker. You can pull the sticker off and you have to get all the glue off before you punch it. It should work ok after that. If you don't pull the sticker off it will start falling off inside your tank from being wet with the nicotine juice. I'm sure the sticker ink and glue will start mixing with your juice to, which wouldn't taste very good.

I read somewhere that if you put the cartos in the freezer, the black label falls right off -- haven't tried it myself, though.
I have, doesn't work. I didn't find that the label came off any easier and the glue was still on the carto. If it would come off easy and cleanly, I would do it because the S.S. are sometimes out of stock.

Hmm, I wonder if it works differently with different cartos. I remember people were agreeing in the thread -- maybe it was for KR808D Volt/Bloog cartos.

Could be, I have tried boge and I think joytech standard 510 carto's. I have read about the freezing thing before also and that why I tried it, with out success. It might have made the wrapper come of a little easier but not that much, and it left the glue on the carto so it still had to be removed with goo-gone or acetone.

Now that I think about it, I think the thread was referring to Volt cartos.

Either way, you're better off getting stainless if you can find them in stock.

Sticker are a pain in the you know what. I only time I do it is if I am out of S.S. The glue left behind after you remove the sticker is messy. Yes you can remove the glue but like I said it's a pain.

+1

Took me awhile to take all the glue off. Ended up using a razor blade and scrapping everything off and that took awhile for that to happen.

I use Goo-Gone also if im out of stainless cartos........just put a drop on some paper towel and it will take off the glue in seconds.

Just make sure you rinse the off the carto well before you drop it in your tank.
You and rock_lobsterrr are both right, but it is messy and I try to avoid doing that. LOL
