Do I really need this ego/torn cone?

The cone comes standard with the ego/tornado kits. But now that many suppliers are offering the ego battery with the cone sold extra, do you really need to purchase this item. I personally don't care for the feel and the 510 cartomizers are hard to fit.

What purpose does the cone have besides the obvious asthetic? Is the improvement with the cones so much better that it is a must buy.

I tell my friends, buy the $20-25 battery, should I tell them to buy the cone too.

From review videos I've seen, it seems to provide a tighter draw. You seem to know from your first-hand experience that the eGO works just fine without the cone.

If I were recommending it to friends on a tight budget (who already had Joye 510 attys), I'd prioritize the comparably priced fast eGO USB charger. But the complete eGO with cone sure does look nice.
