Do I want a "regular" ego?

I have several ego twists, which I use with phoenix bottom coils (2.6-2.8 ohms) and vivi novas (prefer the 2.4 ohm heads). For me, the advantage of the ego twist is being able to dial it down to the lowest setting (3.2v). Usually anything above that gives me a burnt taste, especially with the CE3s. I like having a variety of batteries in different color choices, and I'm thinking about picking up another one or two. I'm wondering if I really need another twist, since I never ever use mine above 4.0, and 90% of the time it's set at 3.2. I use a variety of juices, most are around 50/50 and 12 mg.

I started with KGOs which I believe are 3.7v and they give me a burnt taste. Would a regular (not VV) ego be a good fit for me?

There are two beasts out there, both from Joyetech. The eGo battery and the eGo C battery. The delta between the two is:

  • the eGo batt runs at 3.2/3 unloaded from start to finish a consistent vape;
  • the eGo C batt runs at 3.3/4 loaded from start to finish;
  • the eGo/eGoC upgrade which allows you to select set or unregulated voltage e.g the battery with no PWM

What folks need to understand is that an unregulated eGo battery will run at around 3.6 under load. Oh you will get about 10 hits or so at 4.2 unloaded more like 3.7/8 loaded. As the battery wanes so does the quality of the vape from start to finish. That is why informed folks prefer the eGo just as is (regulated) because you get the same hit from a fresh battery until it is depleted and requires a charge.

The eGo twist on the other hand employs both PWM and higher selected regulated voltage. e.g you set it at what you want and it will deliver the same hit, hit after hit. Mind you at a higher voltage.

IMHO far too many people get hung up on the T2 type heads or eGo C upgrade (all marketing, and nothing else (pipi caca no substance)). I have an eGo set up that runs an AW 18650 (box mod) and prefer my eGo any day of the week and 3 times on Sunday. OTOH I have another eGo box mod that is VV with switiching regulator and yes it performs better than an eGo. Form factor OTOH quite larger than a twist.

There is a lot of chaff with the wheat, one just needs to know how to sift through it all. :)

Hmm, I use the riva battery which i thought was 3.7 consistently until the battery dies. Is my understanding correct? I was contemplating another type of battery, but not sure. I've been vaping a while and got to a point where I settled on riva 900 batteries ego mega shorty cartos. Is there a better set up I can use. I've settled on what I got due to the sheer simplicity. Like an ak, not much that can go wrong with it that I can Mcguyver myself. sorry if im jacking the thread.
