with the new technology of the DNA40, every vapor in this community should seriously consider this as a game changer.

Will it cause us to have to re learn some things?
Yes
Will it change the way we vape?
Yes
Will it change the way we look at vaping?
Yes

I think there is a threshhold at a certain temperature where bad things start happening, and the growing number of cloud chasers who a probably vaping at well beyond that threshold are putting themselves at risk.

Ask yourself this question...
How many times have you re wicked your coild because the current wick was burnt and the coil was gunked up with burnt liquid?

I think we all know the answer to that question...:)

I was not a dna fan. In fact, I actually bashed them for the revers battery and no step down thing, and the fact that I felt they were trying to menopolize the market with patents.
But then I looked closer and realized they are a good company who are just trying to protect their design.

I just ordered a Hana DNA40 mod, and some 28, 30, 32 guage Nickel 200 wire.

I strongly suggest that everyone consider a DNA40 device.

I am extremely interested in the DNA-40 board. Have yet to buy a high wattage mod. How many different mods are there out there with this board?

The only one I see available right now is the Hana Modz, and the Vapor Flask is out of stock. Vapor Shark is taking pre orders, and I'm sure many others will follow.

Be aware, the Hana DNA40's are being finicky, from what I read in the coil build section. It seems that the 510 connection causes the pin to lose connection with the mod, causing "New Atomizer?" Messages intermittently. Just be aware that you may have to baby the thing while it all gets sorted out. It only seems to be the Hana that this is happening with, unfortunately.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to get a DNA40 chip, no matter what it comes in. It's sadly not a feasible purchase for me at the moment, what with my lack of funds :)

I'm just pointing out one source of information, should you find your device giving you grief. I do look forward to getting a temperature-regulated device, if they survive the test of time.

Before you jump on the DNA 40 bandwagon, check out the DNA-TB User Group.

Seems like a lot problems with these boards that continues to surface.

I've read and seen way more good than bad.

Also, ya gotta realize that most people that complain about every little thing, it's usually something they are doing wrong.

Not saying there are not any issues what so ever, but if you look at the results that the beta testers are getting, it's a very good board.

I hear ya, but you also can't put a price on your health. I really didn't have the money to shell out for the Hana DNA40 because I just bought a Hana DNA30 a few weeks back, but I already have that one sold as soon as I get the 40...:)

I would have liked to get a Vapor Shark or a Vapor Flask, but they are not in stock at this time.

I'm good. I vape at power levels most vapers on here would laugh at and can't remember the last dry hit I have had... I do imagine ProVari 3 will have temp control when they release their tanks...

I only vape at 6 to 8 watts, but I still get burnt wicks and coil still gets gunked up with burnt juice. I hope Provape does come out with temerature limiting. I love my Provari's.

I pretty much only use carto tanks, unless on vacation, when I have a buddy who owns a vape shop set up my Kayfun with an Alpaca wick, which has worked flawlessly. My guess is that P3 already is set up for temp control, but the bugs haven't been worked out yet with the programming, which is why P3 is upgrade able. Combined with their tank with ProVari threading and hopefully packs of pre made coils/wicks, I am sure it will be fantastic.

I have not heard anything about temp control in the Provari P3. Do you have inside informaition?

No, but they put a really beefy chip, board and processor in it, are developing their own tank, or are in collaboration to develop a tank- hence the proprietary threading, so it is a logical guess, especially given their stance on safety, which is why I believe they will also sell pre made wicks/coils...

Certainly a possability.

It will be very interesting to see the results Dr. Farsalinos comes up with on higher power vaping and juice degradation. IMO you are absolutely correct about a temperature threshold above which degradation happens, but I suspect power is not related to temperature nearly as much as wire surface area, wicking capability and air flow are.

My ADV is around 30 watts and I have one atty set up at 50 watts. My wicks are not singed or particularly gunked up when I take them out to dry burn the coils. Even my setup that won the unofficial 'dirtiest build award' the other day didn't have burnt wicks in it and it was pretty gross . When I used to use cotton, I would sometimes put the wicks back for another cycle because they were so good still. Rayon makes that impossible so I change them every time now.

The DNA40 is still in its infancy. I'm certainly not suggesting that anyone who is interested in one not get it, but I also feel suggesting all vapers get one is premature. I am also not one to jump on a new device quickly. I prefer to wait for more knowledge about the device to accumulate (things can and typically do really change once people have been using something for a while) and for a few bug fixes or maybe a rev 2 to come out first.

You could have problems with burning even with old 1st gen equipment, I did sometimes then, and I still do sometimes now even though I'm not vaping past 10watts and making sure all is wet n wicked all the time. When it does happen, its painful, it burns, and I fear what is in that vapor. Way too premature and wishful thinking I know, but it would be great if something like this was adopted for all sorts of devices since the problem isn't just high wattage vaping? That would be awesome! Ill be following the developments in the mean time, as its an important issue to solve.

Well, I got the Hana V3 DNA40 today along with some nickel 200 wire, and it is working so far with no issues at all.

I built a coil on my Kayfun lite plus using 12 wraps of 30 guage around a 1/8th inch bit that came out to .27 ohms. I took it out of temp mode so i could heat the coil and tighten it up a bit, then put it back in temp mode. i have it set at 450 degrees so it should never burn the cotton, and i am vaping at 8 watts.

It is working great.

One thing that surprised me was that it came with a spring loaded 510 connector, which I was not expecting at all.

Cool...:)
