Do not exceed 150 degrees while steeping? Really?

I have often wondered about that as well. Some have suggested a temp above 150 will cause sugars in the juice to caramelize. I kind of doubt that they do. Here is a thread where someone heated their juice in a microwave just to the point where it started "smoking." Although I wouldn't go that far, according to him, his juices are perfectly fine and taste better than ever. As for nic degradation, he reports almost minimal loss. Either way, you can always heat your juice without nic and then add later. I personally would be very very careful using the microwave and cooking my juice.

I personally prefer a thermos like this one rather than a crock-pot or a microwave. It does a beautiful job.

Sugars and Nic BOTH start to either metabolise or degrade or convert at temps above 150. You come up with correct term, regardless they start CHANGing Note the word START. This is the point where the process is starting. At 215 or boiling point of water, things are starting to VAPORIZE, and accelerating the conversion and degradation of the chemicals in the juice.

How much sugars are actually in the juice that could start to carmalise? Do people still add sweeteners to juice? I mean, is a majority of the professional juice we order and get at local shops have added sugars/sweeteners... Or do they just get their sweetness from the flavors themselves (any maybe even VG).

Where do you think the "sweet" of E-fluid comes from???? Sweetners Don't really have top be added in mixing, The PG and VG is quite sugary all by itself.

150F was an established baseline when testing was done comparing crock pot to ultrasonic cleaner steeping over in the ultrasonic steeping thread. It's really just a tested suggestion that showed good positive results. There's nothing to say you can't steep at higher temperatures. There just haven't been any controlled test done on anything higher then 150F. So basically any other information on this is pure speculation.
