Do protank/evod heads work with Protank 3

I just ordered myself a MVP 2.0 and a Protank 2 mini.
Was kind of planning on using it with ego threaded evods and wanted to give protank 2 mini a try as well. I just feel ego threads are longer lasting than 510 threads.

Well, the store took my order but they let me know that they're out of Protank 2 minis and that they're sending me a Protank 3 instead.
Well, I did dig my Protank 2 when I had it for a while, but I'm really not interested in the dual coil stuff. I like my vapor on the cooler side, and I have no problems with evods, and had no problem with Protank 2.

Now I know protank/evod heads fit Protank 3 base and not vice versa, but, I still wonder if there's any issues with using protank/evod heads on a Protank 3. Like gurgling or leaking because of the different design of the base?

Any experience with this? Should I just sell the Protank 3 and get a Protank 2 mini?

I wholeheartedly agree that Ego threads seem more reliable than 510, I guess that's just a consequence of the laws of physics. 8) The Protank 2 Mini (v2) is the best clearo I've tried yet (my subjective personal opinion only, after going from CE4 to GS-H2 to the PT2 to Evods).

I haven't tried the PT3, but I'd be surprised if the PT2 coil can be dropped right in without any modifications.

Sorry to inform you, but the Evod, and ProTank coils will not work in a PT3. Kanger made sure of it. You'll have to use the new dual coils for the ProTank Mini 3. I have several Protank 2 Minis and they are great. Coils are easy to come by and you can clean the coils and reuse several times.

So, when you use the Aerotank base with a Protank II, you have to use the the Aerotank coils?

I ordered a complete Aerotank but saw a "Aerotank base for your Protank" but the description said "use it for your Protank or an extra base for your Aerotank"

I don't know if the PTIII is different than the Aerotank too.

Wow, lots of replies about non compatibility. All the reviewers say that PT3 is backwards compatible with evod/protank heads but not the other way around. Has anyone actually used it that way though?

I use my PT2 heads on my aerotank and they work fine.

I don't think the protank 3 base would work with the old coil; I think you can swap the coils WITH the base together.

the protank 3 is no replacement for a miniprotank2; its a bad name really; the miniprotank2 is more like a glass version of the evod than just a small version of the protank.

Well, I promise once my Protank 3 arrives, I will try one of my old coils in it and definitely report here.

One of the stores here that sells Protank 3 actually states on their webshop: "Compatible with Protank 2 coil heads".

I know stores can be full of it and all, but I thought it was interesting.

That gives Protank 3 ability to turn into Protank 2 if you want (or are out of dual coils).
I've got plenty of evod/protank coils at home, and I rebuild them myself, so I really want to use them.

Not to beat a dead horse but yes the evod/protank coils WILL work in the aero tank and protank 3. I actually prefer them better. Dual coils are nice but I don't like them in either the pt3 or the aero. I get a better vapor out of a rebuilt single coil and also see a significant difference in battery life.

Well I've got more news. The store owner contacted me, unfortunately, they won't be shipping Protank 3 either, they still haven't cleared the customs, and their other stuff is out of stock. I'm only getting an MVP from them.

Oh well, I just ordered a Mini Protank 2 (v2) from another vendor which is what I initially wanted anyways since I trust the ego threading more and I loved the mini pt2 when I tried it for a few puffs. I'm sure the mini will make me plenty happy!

I am trying my evod coils in my Aerotank and I can't get it to stop flooding. Opened the air up all the way turned SVD up to 13w with 1.8ohm coil hit the button before I started to draw and used light draws. I'm assuming juice is coming in because the silicon cap is lower on the Evod head so I'm stacking two of the evod silicon caps on the one head and now it seems fine. I'll get back to you.
