Do some juices have a popcorn aftertaste to anyone else?

The only juice that tastes like popcorn to me is carmel popcorn, my every day vape.

Could be just a weird tastebud thing. Mine are going through changes, again.

In my quest for a good e-juice, yes, there were quite a few that either gave off a strange wax/popcorn aftertaste, or a chemical/perfume aftertaste.

I tried around a little over a dozen places for e-juice, 1 strawberry and 1 green apple flavor from each vendor so I could base a frame of reference, at 100% VG, or at least highest VG available and anywhere between 6-12mg Nicotine.

Speaking of which, I don't remember where I purchased a particular e-liquid from, but I recall it had a label that said "High caliber e-juice" or "High Caliber liquid" which looking back now, I thought was pretty tasty. (green apple) Does anyone know of this make/brand? If yes, could you please tell me who sells it? Thanks in advance!

I've noticed this with different brands and flavors of e-juice. The aftertaste is, as best I can describe it, "popcorn." (Not buttered and salted).

Unfortunately I can't recall if this was only with PG or... the other option I can't remember now.

I have a cafe mocha flavor now that has it, and I remember an apple pie that really had it.

Anyone else experienced this or are my taste buds just weird?

Funny you mention a cafe mocha flavor that has it.

The ONLY flavor I've ever had that tasted like popcorn was cafe java smooth or something from HHV. Absolutely TERRIBLE.

Yep, CHeck my post above. The ONLY one I've ever tried that tasted like popcorn came from HHV. I never have (and never will) order from them since. Nothing against them personally, and I know many love their tobacco juices, but it scared me away for good, lol.

I've had that popcorn taste a few times - mostly in the dessert/sweetened vapes...I figured it was maybe the sweetener used or the result of two certain flavorings coming together.

Yeah, I hear you, same here. Definitely more junky e-juices out there then are good ones.

Looking back I spent more $$ than I would want to admit in search of a good e-juice, but was worth it though, your vaping experience will improve by tenfold when you got that "perfect" juice; although once in a while I get that itch to see if there is something else out there that could top the one I currently enjoy

I have gotten the same sensation, the popcorn aftertaste. I was thinking maybe my juice was slightly burnt. I actually do not mind the taste so much.

There's SO much variation from one manufacturer to the next!
Theres a group in the USA called AEMSA working towards self quality "standards"...
I'd much prefer a voluntary member of AEMSA than FDA (who I dont trust).
Its something to take a look at, and ask your supplier about. AEMSA | American E-Liquid Manufacturing Standards Association

Maybe some associate "popcorn" taste with "butter" taste because they've never eaten popcorn without butter? That's all I can figure. I don't taste "popcorn" with my buttered toast though so I seriously doubt popcorn-tasting ejuice is because of diacetyl in them. Popcorn taste is from the corn.... not from butter on it. The tobacco ejuice I have that tastes of popcorn would have no reason whatsoever to want the taste of butter in it so adding diacetyl for butter flavor isn't probable.

i ordered a few from MBV recently and tried them before any steeping. i`d swear i tasted popcorn as an aftertaste in the moo juice which is a strawberry`s & cream flavor. by the next day i no longer tasted it. i always try all that i buy immediately but then leave caps off for a day and shake a few times. this was the only time i got a popcorn taste.

Omg I thought it was just me. The popcorn taste is so yucky.

I specifically order Iggy Popcorn from one of my local places. I have them add a little caramel and it's delish!!!!

I have never, ever heard of anyone not liking popcorn. Interesting.....
