I keep hearing the rumors that the government is trying it's best to regulate and tax e-cigs. Personally, I think the government is losing a lot of tax revenue on cigarettes just because less people are smoking nowadays ... and this same government needs to find additional tax dollars to fill in the hole left from all these non-smokers that don't buy cigarettes anymore.

So, this same government has basically hit 'pay-dirt' if they can start taxing our e-cig juice just as high as they tax cigarettes ... and I am sure it's going to happen in the not to distant future.

My question is .... Do you see a day that the government will be able to tax e-juice that has ZERO nicotine? I can not see that the government will ever be able to tax a mixture of PG, VG and flavoring (as long as there is no added nicotine).

So, with that, I am thinking that it might be a good idea to now buy concentrated nicotine juice before the government taxes the hell out of juice that has nicotine added to it. That way, you will always be able to buy cheap / non-taxed flavored juice ... and then add your own nicotine to it (that you purchased before the heavy tax went into effect).

What do you think?

Sounds like a good plan to me. Just make sure you store it away in a freezer and stays fresh.

One thing the government will never run out of is ways to spend your money.

They'll make up an excuse to tax zero nic juice, even if it's hypocritical to all their other bs non logic. They'll just say children don't know it's zero nic, so then they will go out and buy nic liquid, and it will be a gateway to smoking. They won't be able to stop anyone from making it though.

My GAWD, YES!!!
"THINK ABOUT THE CHILDREN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Saw a news blurb yesterday about the "spike" in Poison Control Center cases of kids ingesting nic liquid..from ONE in 2010....to over 200 in early 2014....Hmmmm....funny....no mention of the # of cases during that SAME period for kids ingesting, say, bleach, anti-freeze, toilet bowl cleaner, ammonia, detergent, etc., etc.--!!
Happy (vaping) Trails!

They can't. It would be like taxing soft drinks as if it's liquor.

You bet!! It still looks like smoking.

Edit: If we were walking around "sucking on a stick" with a battery in it that emitted nothing do you think anyone would care. The only issue is the cloud that looks like cigarette smoke. It's not about children, clean air, nicotine addiction or anything else.

The next multimillionaire will be the person who develops an e cigarette that gives the same taste and nicotine hit that we get now but emits nothing. How can you get upset with someone sucking on a sucker. The ones of us who use e cigs to stop smoking real cigarettes will be very happy, the ones who's main interest is filling the room with vapor will not.

They can't. They can only tax based on ingredients. In this case that has to be nicotine because PG/VG and food flavorings are used in many, many everyday products.
So how can they ever tax flavored PG/VG? It would be very easy to sell it as a non-vaping product.

Maybe not in Netherlands but here in the US they sure could. As long as you have other people who are set up to make decisions for you and can create laws, those people can do anything. There's no freedom with government.

It's probably not likely they would tax no nic ejuice but they certainly could... in the name of children, the great holy spirit, safety for your pets... or just because they want to.

Well of course they could, but based on what? Because the product is sold as a vaping product? You could simply sell flavored PG/VG as a non-vaping product. And if they would tax it based on ingredients then the food industry would have a big problem. So yes, technically it's possible but in reality it's near impossible.

I'm down to 6, 3 and 0mg nic. I've tried diy and don't see that as a problem for me.

CVS.- If asked why I'm guying the glycerin all I will say is "I use it to make my hair shine."

Flavorings.- If asked why I'm buying food flavorings I will say "I bake a lot of cupcakes for my family and they especially like pina colada cupcakes.

Grocery store.- They better not dare to ask why I'm buying distilled water, but if they do, I'll just say "I like to iron my clothes every day."

Only thing I have to worry about is the mods, but I've had the eGo passthrough for 2 years now, the Provari for 1 1/2 years, and the Spinner for 7 months. So, this expense is not going to break the bank if I have to replace them at some point in the future.
