Well, living is killing you, too, just slower than smoking.....LOL.....No long term studies are in regarding vaping and life expectancy, but the general consensus is that vaping is not harmful. It is generally thought that nicotine by itself is not much of a danger, about the same as caffeine. It is all the additives in cigarettes that are extremely harmful. You will live much longer and have better quality of life with vaping as opposed to cigarette smoking. You might live forever in a plastic bubble with no bad habits, but it certainly would be dull..........LOL

one year ago, i thought for sure i had COPD, as i had every single symptom of it:

*Cough, with or without mucus

*Fatigue

*Many respiratory infections

*Shortness of breath (dyspnea) that gets worse with mild activity

*Trouble catching one's breath

*Wheezing

however, within the first month of switching to vaping, it all went away....downright amazing.

I'm on my fourth month of no analogs and can not believe the difference. I am to have major surgery in 9 months and had been advised that quitting smoking will greatly help my recovery. My surgeon supports ecigs 100 percent. Previously I had tried patches several times, gum and cold turkey. All with the same dismal results...being crabby, getting fatter, midnight runs to the store for cigarettes and beating myself up for not being able to quit. I no longer wheeze myself to sleep or wake up hacking, can walk to the mailbox and back with out needing to stop to breathe, no more rattling in my chest....so YES, I do feel better!

I haven't been to any of my doctors as yet. I'm still relatively new to vaping, however, I can tell you that it is amazing that I no longer sound like someone needs to call 911 for me the first thing of a morning! No more hacking, sneezing, snorting, coughing, slapping the vanity trying to catch my breath!! ALL of that went away with the first full week!! AND I can now sneak into the office late because I can make it all the way across the parking lot, through the building, and down the hall without shortness of breath, coughing, wheezing, etc.

I'm hoping that C-PAP will soon be able to go back to it's owner!!!

First week....runny nose, sneezing, congestion...still there but not as bad (end of 2nd week). Trying to determine if I'm fighting a cold or dealing with detoxification. My sense of smell, even stuffed up most of the time is hightened. My taste is ALIVE! Always considered myself a good cook (another passion) but wow, these meals of late rock! One thing I certainly notice is that the "dragging" head tired feeling by 10:00 AM......using tobacco, that was without a doubt prevalent. Don't have that with vaping. So yea, feeling better but waiting to feel 100% again in order to experience all the smells and energy. Not coughing tho.

Just as an aside...drink lots of water....take lots of vitamin C (min. 500 mg. per hour) as you'll pee out what your body doesn't need. Your body needs antioxidants to fight all those toxins still in your system.

I have a team of doctors due to my back condition. They all have mixed feelings on the vaping. They are thrilled this 2 pack a day smoker has been smoke free for over a month.
My GP is worried that it is to easy to go back to anaologs even though I told her it makes anologs taste like a burnt carto. My neuro is thrilled and tells others of my success. He is doing some research on it as well. Now I am avoiding him because once I am 3 months anolog free he can schedule a surgery for me if I say ok. My pain doctor is happy for me and is going to try to give me the ok to vape during my recovery of my injections. It is a smoke free hospital so he is getting clearance for me ( fingers crossed). My DO( still not sure why I see him lol) is worried that not enough research is done and not sure if the damages from vaping can effect my back. Finally my pt is thrilled and tries to see how much more I can do now that I don't smoke.

I personally notice food has more flavor but I actually feel the exact same

I had about a 2 week transition into vaping, from smoking. Was a pack a day smoker for 15 years, and after the transition, strictly vaping for about a month and a half. Honestly, I feel no different than I did smoking. Or perhaps, and more likely, I made what seemed like a slow transition to vaping and might started feeling and breathing better without actually realizing it! One thing's for sure regardless... I MUCH PREFER VAPING TO SMOKING!
