Picked this up at a local shop for cheap. Center post broke so he gave me another. I'm sure its a cheapy clone but I'm not sure of what. If you know what it is any suggestions on rebuilding it? My builds just don't taste like I think they should. Doing 5/4 wraps with 32 GS menthol and 2 mm silica. Also Micro coils with organic boiled cotton.

Looks just like my little dripper from fasttech. Fun little dripper that I use to test out juices. I have a .7Ω micro-coil made with 28g kanthal and it works great.

Unclechimney, would my mvp2 run a .7 ohm coil? I've been trying to keep 1.5 of higher. Do u have any pics of your build?

some mvp2's have been reported to run till .8 ohm's. However i typically suggest staying above 1 ohm to start.

To the OP what is the wrong with the taste? What are you trying to compare it too that you have used before?

I try to compare everything I have to a simple joy tech 510 drip atomizer (best flavor I have found). I have a mini pt2, and an iclear 30. This is my first experience with this type rba. I just wrapped a coil like I would in the mpt2 and left extra wick out one end. Tried 2 mm silica and boiled organic cotton. I did a soak in vodka tonight, maybek it had crap on it from manufacturing.. I did look around think is a squid.cheap one at that.5

dripping atomizers will always have amazing taste compared to tank styles like the iclear's or protank's. Rda's when set up properly come pretty damn close but never exactly the same, I pretty much use rda's and rebuildable tank's.

Its the brother of the octopus. Its the squid. Except thats a fasttech knockoff. You can tell by the insulator. Keep an eye on that insulator. I melted one before and shorted the mod.

This forum and u guys are awesome. Yep I did notice that insulator. With the coil installed the coil is very close to it. It didn't burn but maybe got to hot and that's why it tasted so bad. Will have to find some vids on the best way to rebuild it. I have to start making what I have work. The wife was less than pleased when I came home with the mvp2. Said that's the last one right...

Yep she's glad I quit but doesn't understand there is a learning curve and i am in the search of the best vape.

I've been vaping for 5 years now & I have bought a very very lot of vaping related things. I would bet my next paycheck that in all that time, I still haven't spent as much as I did with only one year of smoking cigarettes. A carton of Marlboros are like what, $50 each now? If I brought a carton on Sunday, you can bet that by Thursday or Friday I would be buying another one. That's close to $75 a week smoking. That comes to $3900 a year. Figuring up for the past 5 years all the parts to make box mods, different vv/vw mods, vendor e-liquid, supplies to DIY my own juice, even my newly acquired ProVari probably doesn't come close to $3900.

A "fix" for the insulator is to trim it down some with a razorblade. I burnt mine at one point. Trimmed it and it was better after that. I ended up giving it to my brother for him to try out dripping
