Do you know which flavoring brands common "premium" eliquids are using?

Well, we know Mt Baker Vapor uses FW. I got a bottle of Ocean Breeze from MBV. I haven't mixed it yet, but when I smelled it I smell something familiar...

A while back I ordered several juices from RAWR vapor due to some hype I was reading somewhere. I hated almost all of them. Many of them were in similar categories- all fruits, many tropical types. They all- or almost all- had this taste that was just odd. I couldn't place what it was, didn't taste like anything specific, just odd. And unpleasant. I smell that same note in Ocean Breeze.

So the point is, I suspect maybe RAWR uses FW?

Yeah, I don't think I will order any more FW products. They just don't taste right. That perfume that people complain about? Flavor West.

I'm sure nobodys advertising the brands they're using but it's a relatively small community so somebody may know.
I guess even brands like fivepawns, space jam, the standard, g2, suicide bunny, jackson and such, are still using flavorings that accessible to us.

I may be mistaken, but I believe five pawns extracts many of their own flavors.

Hmm, I really like the ones I have mixed so far. But if we all liked the same thing, there would only be one flavor company. To each their own. :D

Don't know too much about FW's flavors except for Salted Caramel. I'm loving that mixed with FA Espresso & FA Fresh Cream. I did hear it had some of the nasties in it but it sure is good.
I had bought a whole bunch of flavors from ECX back in November, including Vanilla Custard from Flavor West and Capella. My flavor west Vanilla Custard is now spoiled, I think, I am going to write FW off my list of flavor providers a little scary

HilseeJ, I'm not sure there's cause for alarm. They use different flavorings than you do, that's all...I make several juices that I'd put up against anything sold anywhere, and they all use off the shelf flavorings. A lot of the time, the key is in using flavors that don't seem like they should go together. For example, a touch of Inawera "Wild Strawberry" (which is not quite the same as normal strawberry - it's a lot more tart, doesn't taste nearly as sweet, and has a bit more complexity to it) will bring out raspberry or watermelon flavor incredibly well. That's an expected flavor combination. On the other hand, I did NOT expect lime flavor (again, in sub-1% increments, just a hint) to bring out strawberry as well as it does! There's no lime taste, just a lot more strawberry.

Frankly, it comes down to mixing expertise. Experienced ejuice makers know what flavors to add where for the absolute best flavor. How many revisions of your favorite DIY have you gone through? A certain flavor of mine took 31 tries before it was ready for others to beta test. Revision 47 is where it finalized.

Honestly...

I'm caution now of any of them out there. Really the only ones I trust are my own, as I know exactly what's in them and I know that mine are clean, bottles boiled and sterilized. Extractions of coffee and from vanilla bean need to be watched for mold in the long extended steeping periods too. (I had to toss a batch of Dunkin' Donuts i'd steeped for over a month because of that... any little bit of bacteria will form into a cess pool of yuck, even though at times all the steps are followed to the letter and can happen to anyone, as most of us don't have true 'clean rooms' to build our vapes in)

At least when you do DYI, you know and can clearly see this... with manufactures, one never truly knows if they didn't just scrape the top off and still use the flavoring. (I'm pretty certain it happens too...)

I know some every popular shops near me which people rave about. Some people I met that used those stores tried my juice and were blown away. And one of those shops is a one man band selling over a thousand 10ml bottles per week. This vendor uses mainly Capella with a bit of Flavor West and a bit of Hangsen I believe for his tobaccos. I hate most of the flavors from FW like Ecto (tastes like cat piss imho) but some of it's good like the Green Apple.

....99% of the commercial juice I bought...simply sucked...over flavored, artificial, sickly sweet cheap perfume tasting...and that was some of the better ones...

Evidently whatever they're putting in theirs, I'm not putting in mine

I COMPLETELY agree Blueser... that's exactly what I think too. It's like they don't even sample or try it before rushing it out. Yuck factor 98% of them all. ;)
