My wife and I went to a Tucson Casino last night, first time going since I quit smoking analogs in July and I tell you.........it'll be a while til I can stand a return trip!! My clothes stink, I'm hacking every 30 seconds, my headache is killing me (I had no drinks), my nose is still running, my eyes are still red, oh, and did I say my clothes stink? I used to have fun, but every time a smoker sat down next to me and started blowing smoke in my face I thought I was gonna scream, jeez what a horrible smell. Now that those of you have quit cancer sticks, what are your feelings about smoking in Casinos now that you're completely off of them? What were your experiences in Casinos, were they about like me? I NEVER thought I would become one of THOSE anti-smokers, you know, the former smoker........those guys are the worst kind!!!!!!!!!

I regularly go to casinos and unlike your trip, I haven't had any problems. Weird that I still enjoy the smell of a cig, but not the after smell on a person. To me the casinos are pretty well ventilated so haven't had that problem. Going to Tunica next week and looking forward to vaping away. Hopefully it will get better for you.

My girlfriend still smokes, and I have no problem with the smell. I do enjoy not smelling like an ashtray, but that was always a trait of mine more so than hers. The only difference I've really noticed is that on entering a smokey room (eg. in the morning when she's up before me and smoking without the ceiling fan on) as I approach I do have momentary problems breathing, like the real cigarette smoke freezes my lungs (or the cilia in my lungs) in position in brief shock. lolz

There are non-smoking Casinos and Casinos that offer smoking and non-smoking areas. Maybe you should come to Oregon to do your gambling: Oregon Casinos | Oregon

WRT to your original post, I don't go to places where smoking is allowed, even though I still smoke. For two decades, I haven't gone to those places. Too much second-hand smoke. I sat in the smoking section of an airliner exactly ONCE and I was a three-packer/unfiltered gal in those days, but I never did it again. At home, I take great care to keep the air clean.

We live by the one on Nogales Hwy. but I haven't been there since I quit. I don't think I would be 'temped' by any means and I'm not sure if it would bother me as I never minded the smell of a burning cigarette. I was standing behind someone in bestbuy that smelled just awful though. Either he was a heavy smoker or he had a 1/2 smoked cig in his pocket [those are the worst!]

I enjoy the smell of passing through a waft of smoke and long for a moment for a cig and grab a PV. I feel bad for the people in the elevator next to me that smoke. The stench is putrid. I vowed to never be a smoke nazi or give stink eyes to smokers. I was one of them for too long. Many will be vaping with us soon :)

I have been to one of our local casinos twice since I have quit smoking. Still sat in the smoking section..because I wanted to use my pv. The smoke filled room didn't bother me any more than it did when I smoked. It always did make my eyes feel dry and get all blood shot. I don't mind the smell of fresh cigarette smoke but do hate the stale smell it leaves in a room or on your clothing.
I will never be one of those "people" who complains about people smoking in smoking designated areas. They aways ticked me off when I was smoking. You know the ones....the arm flapers and people haters.

Ditto, hairball. I did that to my poor wife all of those years. She must have really loved me to put up with the smell and her allergy to smoke. Didn't bother her many moons ago when me met, but finally I found "religion"----vaping. And sorry to you folks who aren't bothered, it now causes a bad reaction, my nose instantly plugs up then my eyes burn. And that's from a 35 year pack and a half per day smoker who quit exactly 4 months ago today, 7/18/11. Wow, how quickly our lives can change.

I had a casino worker confront me at Harah's because my PV was on a lanyard. She asked me about it because her boyfriend gets up in the middle of the night just to have one. Boy I remember those days and don't miss them. Anyhow, I gave her a bunch of info. When she got her break, we sat down in the snack bar and talked more about it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she got him talked into at least trying it. I gave her an ECF card and told her to make an account and get on here but I don't know if I gave her my user name. I'm really hoping she did and reads this.

I'm surprised that nobody has been asked to turn in their PV at security. I used to work in a casino for 1.5 years and bringing in electronic devices is a big no-no. Personally, I as a former smoker think the casinos are too smoky. I heard it ranks just behind a coal mine for workplaces that can cause breathing problems.
