Do you sanitize your new "plastics"? What do you use?

I've heard of soaking in grain alcohol but that seems like another frivolous expense. I may get a sonic cleaner that has a water heater built-in which could also double as a speed-steeper.

I wonder if most of these plastics like the Evod would withstand boiling water?

I believe I will be switching to all glass/metal atomizers in the future so cleaning should be much easier although the plastic atomizers will remain as backups.

With the EVODs I have I just used hot water and Dawn dish soap when I got them and washed then rinsed them thoroughly. I wouldn't boil anything made of plastic, but that's just me.

If I'm changing eliquids and a rinse and wash in hot water doesn't completely remove the flavor I soak them in vodka. I just buy the cheapest 80 proof stuff I can find; last week I bought a 1.75 liter bottle for $9.99 and it works just fine. I only use a couple of shots, just enough to cover the EVOD when it's lying down inside of a drinking glass, and I don't drink vodka (especially this stuff) so it will last me a long time.

I've never washed any of the plastic bottles I've purchased from US Plastics. Just never thought of doing it. Is it simply a precaution, or is there another reason to do it?

Any empty juice bottles, needle tips, clearos, etc. that I buy I just wash out of habit and precaution. You never know what residue could be left on them after the manufacturing process is complete. It doesn't take a lot of effort and washing them well pretty much ensures that there isn't anything nasty coming in contact with my eliquid (and subsequently into my mouth and lungs).

I do the same when I buy any kind of food or beverage container as well for the same reasons.

I hear people using all sorts of methods. Many make little to no sense.
Alcohol soak for a few minutes, maybe then rinse and dry thoroughly.
People say they soak in plain water over night? Why? it does nothing more than soaking for 15 minutes would do and you are waiting that much longer before the thing can be put back into use.

Most of the time I can Completely clean and refill my CE5's or any of my Kanger tanks in 5-10 minutes.

in another thread...don't remember which one...someone used denture cleaner :)

and as for letting sit and soak over night would be to clean a used atty to help remove more of the built on I'd think...

I'm half tempted to try the denture cleaner to clean gunk from atties....makes more sense to me than alcohol as a cleaner...alcohol I'd think is more of a sanitizer.

I wouldn't use hand sanitizer, because I don't care to vape residue. I also don't use soap, for the same reason.

I have used vinegar and rubbing alcohol, in lots of hot water, but I don't think it was necessary.

I don't want to get H7N9. If I can still smell the Purell after it dries, I rinse it again. If I can't smell it, odds are I won't be able to taste it.

My experience in totally different contexts is that alcohol is usually no better a solvent than water. It does have the virtue of drying quicker than water.
I used to work on high-speed business printers. The ones in the computer rooms. We used a cleaning solvent that was 96% alcohol to cut through the ink, oil, paper-dust build-up. It works.
