I was wondering if you had the guts to vape at a restaurant or mall or where ever, or would it just not be worth it because of the dirty looks and assumptions? I'm thinking of taking a few crafty vapes in the movies.
Hello :) Yeah I've vaped in a few public places. Now days I try to wait until I am outside. Go ahead an sneak a few puffs in a theater. Last time I went to the movies with my cousin she was going to light up a cigarette in the movie theater. Washington state is very much anti cigarettes. She swore she does it all the time, and slapped the crap out of her. I payed to watch that movie and was not going to get kicked out! Too bad e cigarettes weren't around then ;)

I never vape in public places that don't allow smoking. I do ask EVERY bar or lounge that I go to if it's ok. Surprisingly ALOT of them say it's cool. I'm just too old to get in a confrontation about my electric cigarette. I'd hate to have to go inside someone's mouth because they talked to me crazy over smoking an e-cigarette.

I understand the whole "vape where you like" philosophy, but I think in the short term it may not be beneficial. Right now the ecig industry is exploding, and as a result falling under the watchful eye of the government. There is a lot of misinformation out there. Brazen vaping is a sure fire way to get vaping banned wherever cigs are banned, which is nearly everywhere. A ban like that would also mean no vaping in vape shops. I think respectful vaping while we wait for more doctors and scientists to preach the benefits could lead to private companies being allowed to make the decision on whether to allow vaping or not. Remember, the initial reason behind smoking bans was a bogus EPA report about the dangers of secondhand smoke. Let's not let bogus information be the demise of something else that we all enjoy doing.

I am confused. Is it public vaping, or misinformation that is the threat? I guess it could be both.

I hear this all the time. So I have a question for you, if you don't mind. If vaping in public will get vaping in public banned...then who cares? If its gonna be banned if we do it, or will remain legal only if we never do it, why not just enjoy it while we can?

I am not talking about being a jerk about it. I just mean vaping in a park, or playing miniature golf, or in a bar, or whatever situation the owner of the property is amenable to. I say, enjoy the moment.

It is both that are a threat, and I'm not saying don't vape in public forever, just until more real information is made public, and businesses can make educated decisions about if they choose to allow it. I'm also not talking about parks or any public place where smoking is still allowed. I'm talking about brazenly strolling through Target or the mall and vaping. Some businesses have already made the decision to restrict vaping to designated smoking areas. I took a Carnival cruise last month, and they had ecig restrictions printed on the ticket.

When smoking was first banned there were a lot of bars and restaurants that wanted to continue to allow it, but the government told them they couldn't. As ecig use continues to grow by leaps and bounds, there may be a lot of establishments that want to allow it, maybe even cater to it. I'm just saying to give that a chance to happen.
