What do you use in public?

I'm not looking to attract curious onlookers and will stick with my skinny eGo and mini tank but was wondering what your folks vape in public situations where you are around a bunch of strangers. I'll vape out of a light saber at home but being inconspicuous out and about seems to fit my introvert personality.

I'm a home maker and retired, so my "out in public" mainly consists of shopping in stores, or occasionally eating in restaurants. Most of those places are already non-smoking, so I don't plan to vape there. I am accustomed to not doing it, so it isn't a problem. I didn't smoke there either.

That said, I have no problem with puffing on my ego in the parking lots and to and from. Don't think I would be comfortable with anything bigger, either. My ego is about the size of a cigar. I guess I don't mind someone thinking, "There goes that crazy old bat who smokes cigars.":D

When I'm out and about, I rock what I use at home. These days that means a Reo, which is pretty inconspicuous (not that that's why I got it).

When I used larger devices, I used those "in the wild" as well unless it's mid-summer, I'm in shorts and a t-shirt, and carrying a larger setup is impractical. I suppose, selfishly, I'm more concerned about my vaping needs than others' perception (not saying that either right or wrong).

Hi, first post, but this thread drew my attention.

I agree with Buggainok in a sense. While there isn't anything particularly dangerous about an e-cig in public as there is with cigarettes, that doesn't necessarily make them the most polite thing to use in an indoor public setting, either. If you're using flavored e-liquid, it still produces a light scent, and while most will find it to be a pleasant hint of something in the air, there are many people who are sensitive to certain scents or simply find such things to be offensive.
As a funny example of this, my boss won't let me use mine at work because it produces enough odor (albeit pleasant) to be deemed distracting or potentially offensive to others. Our compromise is that I can use it right outside the front door instead of having to take a walk around the block like I used to when I smoked.

All that said, it really depends on the social setting you plan to use it in, and if you're in a comfortable relaxed environment, use what feels comfortable to you. People are less likely to have their attention drawn to something you handle comfortably and with ease.

I use an eGo-T battery with a pretty stock-standard CE4 clearomizer. Since I feel awkward referring to it as an "e-cigarette" because of its shape, I've taken to referring to it as my "portable hookah".

If it's just a quick jaunt, I use a permanent pass-through eGo in my car's USB where it lives. If it's a bit longer, like yet another one of Mrs. Kodiak's painful mall excursions, I'll carry a tiny Joye 510 with a pen clip in my shirt pocket. And a spare Joye in a side pocket maybe.

And I'll stealth vape in the mall. It's most exciting evading the mall cops. (That's right people... I live on the edge.)

I only really have eyecatching statement pieces and I use them everywhere. Its either my zombie provari or my Iron Man maraxus with matching kraken. I generally get a lot of people asking if really vaping works and they are surprised when I truthfully tell them I went from 2 PAD Newports to only vaping. :)

vaping is huge here, you see people puffing in malls all the time. All the bars and restaurants have outside sections since its pretty nice year round so most vapers will sit out there and eat and puff. No one really walks up to me and ask questions and im don't blame them. I'm not exactly the type that looks approachable. 6'1" 235, scruffy MMA fighter, hell even a lot of my customers look confused when I start talking about products at my job(tea shop) and say I really didn't expect you to know much about tea lol.

Actually I carry my V2 cigalikes sometimes if I'm going to a ball game or concert, or something really public like that where I'm likely to want to vape. One, it's easy in my pocket, and two, doesn't draw a lot of attention.

I started with V2's, then realized what I was missing an upgraded to iTaste vv's (which I love and use most of the time), but as time goes by I've come to appreciate the cigalikes for certain circumstances.
