thanks rheo! I think TDM is working on it now.. but if it doesn't work I will let you know asap!

Maly.. my comp is SO F*ed right now. HD is 98% full. Only have 1G RAM and only a 232GB HD but have THREE 1TB HD's running off USBs lol! So it is like a corvette with a gremlin engine :)

But it is still kicking and I spent so much on the external drives I can't get a new comp. I shoulda ju7st got a bay and some internals. Oh well.. maybe just gotta upgrade it a bit.

Sound like you need to clean it out, do you ever defrag, run a registry cleaner, or just do a daily "disk cleanup"...maybe you don't have Windows XP or what??

I finally had to get after my grandkids, show them how to keep the trash out....boy, sometimes you wonder. Keep putting gas in the car and never check the oil??

I could've sworn my MS Word saved to .pdf, but guess it doesn't anymore.
There are ADD-INS for msword you can download (go to Help, but not sure if you have to pay for them or if they're free). We generally use Corel Word Perfect Office for word processing.

You are essentially correct -- I mentioned my favorite (Bullzip PDF Printer). I've tried the others mentioned, and for reasons that I can't remember I settled on this one. It's free but not an add-in per se, and not specific to msword either. It's a printer driver that prints the document to a pdf file instead of sending it to the printer. Bullzip installs and is used just like any other printer. Once installed, it's accessible from any program that uses the windows printing service. Select "Print", "Bullzip PDF Printer" as the printer name, click "OK", and then provide a filename.

I still prefer openoffice.org in these situations due to its flexibility, but I'm also a hopeless fanboy of that suite.

You can do it all online. Just go to Doc2PDF Online: Document to PDF Conversion Service, powered by BCL easyPDF SDK

Click the "choose file" button and browse to your file and then enter your email address, and click "convert to pdf". It will email you you're pdf file without any type of watermark or advertising. I just tested it and it works great :)
This one worked!!!!!

Maybe you just need a mechanic to fix it for you.Too bad you live on Long island or i would offer. I avoid NYC like the plague.

Before you say it you have to go thru NYC to get to LI
TDM.. I got it saved as PDF now.. thanks so much for your offer to help! And by the way... you only have to9o go THROUGH NYC to get to LI if you are already IN NYC.... otherwise there are many bridges to LI without going thru NYC :)

OK, up along the top, there is a row of tools, the first is a printer, the second is a "disk"....hit that button, it should open up back in your "documents" and tell it to save.
Tanks for the help Kate!

To everyone who helped/tried to help... I got it and it is going up on VapersClub.com. It will be a 1 page printable sheet explaining ecigs for those of us who are sick of explaining it to people lol!

Don't get me started about kids changing the oil!! My niece changed the oil in her car. it took her 2 hours to put the oil back in it! She used a turkey baster to put it in through the dipstick hole!! Her dad and I got there just as she started..... We waited until she was finished to show her the oil fill plug:D

Incidentally, if anyone is interested in finding which files are taking up a lot of hard drive space in order eliminate them, sequoiaview is a great program put together by some guys at TUE for this purpose. It displays the storage allocation for each file graphically and groups them by directory. I have found it to be very useful

I can't post URL's yet, but google "sequoia view" and the first link (from TUE) is where you can find it.

Just be advised to only delete files that you know to be non-critical. Do not delete hiberfil.sys or pagefile.sys if you see them, although they may be relatively large files depending on your setup.

After cleaning your hard drive using this (or some other) tool, defrag for better performance.

That's pretty freakin funny :)

I gotta find a way to set up an auto-defrag cause I never have time to do it and it takes too long and doesn't finish while I sleep.

That means to me you MUST do it more often, start/stop not good!
I do a Disk Cleanup AND a Defrag EVERY DAY....every time you click your mouse all day you get junk in your temp files, evenually your computer is full of JUNK....Also, a Registry cleaner and driver updater a GOOD idea, I use UNIBLUE for both of those things, cheap and works well. Regclean I do about once a week, driver checker about once a month. Your PC will run like a top as long as your hardware in good shape, even if you don't have a megatrillionGB hard drive or 8gb of RAM. It's easier to take care of what you have than to be buying new stuff all the time and then running that into the ground too.. BOY you got me going, I gotta quit this!! I've had to completely wipe out PC four or five times, bugs, viruses, failed power units, bad hard drives, etc. NOT fun. Still hooked on Windows XP though, next one may be a Mac.
