A week before I started vaping my BP was 230/110 and my heart rate was in the 120's...and I was already on medication! Within a week of starting vaping my BP was closer to normal and my heart rate was in the 90's and I was able to lower my BP meds some. Both my PCP and cardiologist love the ecig and encourage me to keep using it.

Nicotine is a vasoconstrictor which is why cigs raise BP, so I don't think vaping helps with that.

There's more factors in the cig smoke that affect bp. Losing all those, and keep the nicotine, is probably what's contributing to the lower bp that a lot of us are seeing (myself included)

I talked to a doc in a walk in clinic the other day and she was clueless! I told her what they were and how they worked and she tried to tell me they were no better cause the Nic would still give me mouth cancer. I'm not a doctor but I've heard lots of other places that nic by itself isn't a carcinogen

Swedish studies suggest that snus users don't get cancer - it's the combustion products that cause cancer with tobacco.

i imagine many, many substances are carcinogens in high enough doses, so while nic juice may "contain carcinogens" i'd be willing to bet they're in a whole different class when compared to cigs. of course, i drink diet coke by the liter, and use artificial sweeteners excessively, so i'm used to everything threatening to cause cancer.

exactly. the vasoconstricting effects of nicotine cardiovascular system without the tar and other crap that's inside a conventional cigarette is much less.

Carbon monoxide inhaled with conventional cigarettes was displacing the oxgyen carried by your hemoglobin causing distress on your system, which resulted in a bp and pulse rise as well.
