Hi all,
My friend was over at my house yesterday and she tried my cappuccino smooth and really liked the flavor, but she uses a higher nic than I do, I use 18 mg and she uses 30 mg so my question is, she wants to order the cappuchino smooth in the 30 mg will it taste the same as mine or will changing the nic strenghth change the flavor? TIA

I am not sure, I would say it would taste the same. I read some where that nicotine is tasteless. It used to be used as a murder weapons in old mystery novels because of this. But I checked before posting and got two different answers, one said it was tasteless and another said it is very bitter. I would still say even if there is a difference in flavor between the 18 mg and 30 mg it would be very slight. Only way to know is get a sample size of the 30mg let it Steep and vape it to see.

I DIY all my juices. IMO I have found very little difference in flavor based solely on nic content. The biggest changes in flavors are noticed when tweaking the pg/vg ratio. PG transmits flavors better than VG and I typically use an 80pg/20vg mix. When that ratio is changed and I use more VG (for a thicker sauce) I need more flavoring.

I don't notice a change in flavor. I do notice that, at higher nic levels, the flavor will be interfered with sooner by the burny/tingly nic sensation. That is to say, at 18mg, I can vape about 8-9 times in a row before I start to "taste" nicotine. At 24mg, I can only vape about 3-4 times before I have to take a break. Unless I'm drinking - then all bets are off.

I started by vaping 0 nic. I could easily tell the juices that had nic by taste. By body/brain doesn't noticeably react to nicotine and had stopped years before I quit smoking. When I began I was buying juice all over the place.

When I started ordering from FSUSA, I began ordering everything from 0 to 36 mg of nic. If I didn't look at the bottle, I wouldn't be able to tell which had how much or any. That wasn't the case with the other vendors I started out using.

I do recall a thread regarding this when I began. I think the more or less general consensus at the time "in that thread" was that nic affects taste at 24 mgs and higher. But these posters were also buying juice all over the place as well as DIYing.

Maybe it has something to do with the quality/flavors of the particular juice?

Have you noticed a particular mg level that you begin to taste it, Salem?

I taste it at 18 and 24 mgs. But I have also vaped plain nic with PG and that is how I figured out the peppery taste. I don't taste it as much after my juice steeps for awhile though. I have a friend that vapes at 12 and 18 mgs and she thinks that it has a peppery taste also. The VG has a sweet taste so it offsets the nic taste somewhat IMO.

That will also work for something I've personally been pondering. It feels like the vapor is fuller with nic. That's the only advantage I personally get from vaping juice with nic. I'm going to try your experiment to see if I "feel" the difference. I'm also wondering if it's that my lungs respond different to nic since it's had it most of my life.
